★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had the delightful experience of visiting Sugar Street’s newest location on the SW waterfront. I was a little leery about the parking situation down there because I can’t parallel park worth a flip, but I went a little before lunchtime and had no issues finding parking whatsoever. The Parking Kitty app made things much easier. The entrance was also easy to spot from the street thanks to the excellent signage and billboards.Upon entry into the bakery, everything looked and smelled positively heavenly! It’s not a big shop, so likely only a few people could enter at the same time, but they were very quick about getting my order together for me in no time at all. They were even kind enough to display it on plates for me first so that I could take some photos before packaging it up (thank you so much for doing that, you guys).I ordered the Turkey, Swiss, Avocado & Bacon sandwich, a Chai Latte (which they so kindly made a little more on the spicy side for me), and one of their adorable pink Powell cupcakes which was raspberry cake with raspberry buttercream. All I can say about the food is that everything was absolutely divine! Especially the cupcake. Oh my goodness, I just can’t stop thinking about that cupcake! I want another one (or six) so bad! They were all decorated so beautifully that I just had to purchase a few extras to give away as gifts at a stop I had to make on my way home. But after tasting mine later, I secretly wished I had kept them all for myself. Does that make me an awful person??To sum it up, Sugar Street is a fantastic bakery with a multitude of options to please everyone, including gluten free and vegan options as well. And I will definitely be back soon. Not just for myself, but when it comes time for the next party I plan, they will be the first ones that I call to handle the desserts.
March 09 · Jen PlanqueWow, if you are into panini and cupcakes, you must stop at this cute little restaurant. The ladies who work there are super knowledgeable and friendly. They sure know how to take care of my hungry tummy!I had a turkey pesto panini with a side salad and marionberry salad dressing, bag of chip, red velvet cupcake and a drink. Everything was very tasty!Just beware that parking is difficult in that area. There is actually a side street where you can get free parking if you are lucky.
March 03 · Dory TangI've visited all SS locations; however the vibe on S. Waterfront Gaines was electrifying. It reminded me of being in Vancouver BC. The staff was incredible as always and the food & treats were magical. I didn't branch out ans try anything new for food and stayed with my go to Breakfast Burrito, which is hands down best that I've had. I did try the Gaines St. cupcake - love the pistachio flavor.Chic ambiance and delicious treats. I will definitely be back! Will A
March 02 · K. Brion CraverYummy, affordable coffee. I tried the rose petal frosting on a pistachio cup cake. The cupcakes are covered in glitter… so pretty and so Instagram-worthy. I have a nice experience every time I walk in this cafe.
May 03 · Tatiana Maria CorbittI purchased a dozen cupcakes, paid approximately $50. The frosting was exceptional the cakes were dry and tasted as though they were left over from the day before. I was not impressed, I won't be back.
