★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Alert! i would 100% agree with the review fromCamille C. 3 month ago.this week i bought a very small apple cobbler for $15 at the SF Fillmore st. Festival , take home and it was terrible terrible even my son don’t eat them.i read the big advertising board at their booth and bought the pie, .if google has a 0 start i would used it.
July 10 · alodie2 noir2The quality has definitely declined. I bought a small peach cobbler for $15.00 which was a far reach considering the poor quality. The pie was nothing but a thick crust topping with a few scattered watery peaches and a doughy base that wasn't thoroughly baked. After this experience and the cost, I'm inspired to bake my own cobblers. SMH
March 30 · Camille C.My brother brought me by says the cakes here are delicious. Everything looks amazing. I brought a sock it to me, lemon church cake, and the star of the show was the sweet potato pecan pie. Oh my Gosh! Save your self a trip and Just get the whole pie.
August 31 · Carla GeeSomeone just brought me some apple pie from this spot and...mind you, I'm not very picky when it comes to sweets, but it was revolting. I don't know what they consider "apple pie" but this was definitely not apple pie. There were no apples. It didn't even taste like apple pie filling from can. Apple pie should be sweet, and have flavors of tart apples, butter, brown sugar, and warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. There should also be visible apple pieces with a pleasant toothy texture throughout the pie. None of that criteria was met. There were no spices like cinnamon or nutmeg, and the filling just tasted like some bland, slightly mystery fruit flavored, gray jelly. Konjac jelly? The texture was awful. It literally turned my stomach. This place was recommended to my fiance by a fellow chef and foodie so i had high hopes. I thought it would at least be good. My fiance tells me he'd never been there before and when asked by our foodie friend what he wanted, he asked for apple pie because apple pie is safe and "hard to mess up". Our friend admits that he'd never tried the apple pie from here so he had no idea. Apple pie is indeed very difficult to mess up i would say. I would have been happy if it was even ok or passable. It was neither. It was absolutely disgusting. The flavor, texture, and appearance were just so bad My stomach was actually turned from this experience and I actually need time to recover as i write this. I'm not going to give it one star because i haven't tried their other sweets and they might have had a bad day or just really don't know how to make apple pie, but i can not rate this bakery highly as this is my first impression and it was mortifying.
July 13 · Jana JonesWas back in SoCal and had to make a stop at Mommie Helen's. My coworkers found out I was headed down and I ended up with a list similar to a catering order. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS! The peach and rose berry cobbler, the lemon church cake and the sweet potato pie. Yum!
