Three Danes Baking Company Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the heart of Fort Worth's charming Near Southside neighborhood sits a true culinary and hospitality gem: the Three Danes Baking Company. This establishment is much more than a typical bakery; it is a beloved family owned and run bakery and bed and breakfast operating out of a beautifully detailed yellow Victorian house. This unique setting allows them to offer an unparalleled experience, blending genuine, warm Texas hospitality with the authentic, Old World flavors of Denmark.
The bakery is run by a dedicated mother-daughter trio who cook up fresh, delicious sweets every day. They specialize in authentic Danish pastries, a rare find in the DFW area, which draws a steady stream of dedicated customers to their small storefront. While their retail hours are limited to ensure the highest quality and freshness—with baking days often starting at 12:30 a.m.—the experience is consistently rewarding. Customers often describe the ladies who run the place as 'soo sweet', offering not just pastries, but engaging conversations about the treats, providing a truly personalized touch to every visit.
From the buttery, flaky layers of their Danish pastries to their famed seasonal Kringles (which are often described as a huge hit for families and friends), Three Danes Baking Company represents a perfect convergence of heritage, quality, and community feeling right here in Texas. It’s a destination for a quick visit to grab morning treats or a place to arrange elaborate desserts for special events and holidays.
Location and Accessibility
Three Danes Baking Company is located in a beautifully historic area of Fort Worth at 712 May St, Fort Worth, TX 76104, USA. Tucked away at the rear of the Victorian inn, the storefront location is part of the charm, though customers are advised that a steady stream of patrons often lines up for their baked goods, particularly on the days the bakery is open to the public.
The public retail hours for the bakery and patio are typically limited to most Friday and Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. or until goods are sold out. Some reports suggest that due to popularity and the family’s focus on the inn, the storefront has reduced its public hours to operate on the first Friday and Saturday of each month—a detail that emphasizes the exclusive nature of their fresh offerings and makes an early visit essential for the widest selection.
While the bakery operates from the inn, guests of the bed and breakfast benefit from a continuous supply of treats. The location is easily accessed from major Fort Worth routes, drawing customers from across the city for their coveted Danish sweets.
Services Offered
The dual nature of the establishment—a bakery and an inn—results in a unique set of services tailored to both overnight guests and the local Fort Worth community.
Public Bakery Retail Hours: The storefront is open to the public for a limited time, specializing in selling their fresh-baked daily offerings until they run out. This ensures peak quality and high demand for their specialty items.
Special and Holiday Orders: The bakery accepts pre-orders for special events and holidays, such as their acclaimed Christmas Kringles. Customers are advised to give at least 48-hour notice for special accommodations throughout the month, even when the storefront is closed.
Takeout and Curbside Business: The facility is set up for Takeout Available service, which became especially popular, prompting the continuation of a curbside business model for convenient pickup of pre-arranged orders.
Coffee Service: Essential for any quick morning visit, the bakery offers high-quality Coffee as part of its daily offerings.
Payment Convenience: They accept modern payment methods, including Credit cards and Debit cards, for quick and easy transactions.
Inn Hospitality (B&B Guests): The inn offers overnight guests an immersive experience, including a delicious morning breakfast with their homemade pastries and rye bread, fine china service, and a 24-hour self-service refreshment bar with complimentary Coffee, hot tea, and cookies.
Features / Highlights
Mousa Donut’s features focus on its authentic heritage, product exclusivity, and deeply personal service model, making it a unique draw in the Texas bakery scene.
Authentic Danish Pastries: The core highlight is the dedication to authentic Danish baking. Their rotating offerings include turnovers, bundt cakes, glazed lemon bars, fruit-filled galettes, pecan squares, blueberry muffins, eclairs, marzipan bars, iced brownies, and traditional favorites like kanel snegle (Danish cinnamon rolls) and the celebrated Kringle.
The Kringle Phenomenon: The Christmas Kringles are a particular favorite, described by customers as an absolute hit with family and friends, justifying the bakery's top ratings.
Family-Run Excellence: As a great family owned and run business, the "mother daughter trio" provides exceptional, personal service. Customers love talking to the ladies and hearing the 'tasty description' of the treats, fostering a welcoming, small-town feeling.
Exclusive Freshness: The limited retail hours create a high demand for the daily offerings, which are baked on-site—sometimes starting at 12:30 a.m.—and sold until they are sold out for the day, ensuring absolute freshness for every customer.
Historic and Quaint Setting: Operating out of a beautifully detailed yellow Victorian inn, the ambiance adds a unique charm to the experience. For those who stay, the house is described as beautifully detailed with clean, quaint rooms and fine china.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update 1/1/2019Gave them back the last star: Their Christmas Kringles were a hit; both of them. And the service was still just as excellent as every time I goGreat family owned and run bakery and bed and breakfast in the heart of fort worth. The mother daughter trio cook up sweets every day and sell them out of a small storefront until they run out for the day. They also make sweets for special events and holidays. Its not quite a 5 bc i wasnt a huge fan of the pies i got for thanksgiving, the apple pumpkin pie had entitely too much nutmeg or nutmeg type flavor, and the pecan chocolate was very dense. But i love their daily offerings, i have never been disappointed. The ladies who run the place are soo sweet too. I just love talking to them talk about what they put into particular treats, they provide such tasy description. I will likely upgrade after christmas when i get my kringles and those become a hit with my family and friends.I have never stayed in one of their rooms but they do look quaint and the house is so beautifully detailed. A little pricey but im sure the hospitality may be worth
January 10 · T GWe stayed in a room. This plays was so wonderful! I loved the fine china that was set out. You had a bear and wine at happy hour. I don’t drink but they had a coffee and tea station upstairs with cookies. The rooms where clean. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. They had breakfast rolls and rye bread. Everything was delicious. We tried the bakery out too. They had some really delicious baked goodies.
