While some isolated customer comments reflect inconsistencies with specific item preparation (e.g., shell fragments in nut items) or operational concerns (e.g., coffee pouring, employee health matters), the overwhelming reputation of Viktor Benes rests on its historical commitment to European-standard recipes, which have sustained its loyal customer base for over seven decades. For the true connoisseur of continental cakes and pastries in California, this Franklin Avenue bakery remains a vital and rewarding destination.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came in for a coffee and saw one of the employees wearing a mask. I asked him if he was sick, and he said yes. I asked, “Why are you working while sick and risking others?” He replied, “I have no choice, I need to work.”To the management of this café: stop thinking only about profit and start caring about your customers and employees. Sick workers can spread illness and seriously affect people’s lives. This is not an honest business—it’s a place that puts money before people. I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this café — you could get infected.
May 20 · Kevin AsI buy pecan balls on regular basis and it is always particles of the shell in the mixing I stoped buying them and the same coffee service they fill half the cup and say left room for milk when I did Not even ask It’s horrible 👎👎👎
June 22 · marina derkhorenianThe lady here is nice and they make mochas here for people that go to random places and ask for a mocha Good to go. Man the little pie nice crispy.
January 02 · Frankie Mo. HDNice little coffee & bakery shop in the supermarket building. It’s a hood place for a quick and cheap fix and bite. Although the quality is good and there’re plenty of choices.$2.05 medium iced coffee$0.95 mini dip chocolate ear
December 14 · Ekaterina SpiridonovaIts just an okay... Bakery. I have gone 6 to 8 times in a month and they never have a strawberry cake. Only tarts or other flavor cakes. If you're looking for a cake with strawberries don't go here, most of the time they just have raspberry cakes or apricot. They don't even have strawberry cookies. They do have chocolate cakes. But it's a very lame experience with not a lot of options, and some cakes are not worth the price. You can definitely buy a better tasting cake in another place then waste money on this place. It's more of a cookie place than anything else, they don't even bake traditional bread. So good luck wasting your time here.
