Yvonne's Southern Sweets Introduce
For over two decades, **Yvonne’s Southern Sweets** has been a cherished culinary staple in the San Francisco Bay Area, bringing the warmth, tradition, and rich flavors of authentic Southern baking to the California coast. Located in the heart of the Bayview Hunters Point community, this **Small business** is much more than a bakery; it is the continuation of a beautiful family legacy, deeply inspired by the recipes of the owner, Yvonne Hines' late grandmother, Mrs. Vermell Hines.
Since opening its doors in 2006, Yvonne’s Southern Sweets has drawn a dedicated following, recognized for its scratch-made desserts where the secret ingredient is often a copious amount of butter and a whole lot of love. The bakery specializes in classic Southern confections, most notably its famous **Pralines**, **Sweet Potato Pie**, and the nostalgic **Old School Butter Cookies**. The atmosphere is that of a traditional Southern take-out shop—small, focused, and dedicated to the quality of the product, often leading to long lines of customers eager to taste the authentic, retro flavor of homemade sweets.
Yvonne Hines’ journey started by making pralines from home in 2002. Today, her business has received significant recognition, including being selected as a vendor for major Bay Area events, such as the new Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors, and creating snack boxes for the media guests at Super Bowl 50. This small, community-focused bakery is a powerful local success story that continues to honor tradition while serving the modern San Francisco consumer.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm glad I was able to taste Yvonne's sweets. I saw a long line on Third St and had to stop by. We also had a bowl of her gumbo. The oatmeal cookies were my favorite.
July 19 · My Anderson Angels Jalynn & LailaWent today to purchase some butter cookies and I experience unprofessionalism and lack of customer service. She responded to me like, "what how many cookies do you want, because I have to get back to this project that I'm doing." This is not business etiquette whatsoever and disregard to your customers. I will never return back there again, and it's unfortunate because there's not a lot of black owned businesses. Yvonne Southern Sweets is not a good look to treat your customers in this type of manner. You will not be in business very long treating people in this regard.
December 29 · Mrs. Comelia BurtonHoly Moly. We tried the pecan tartlet and peach cobbler, and Jiminy Christmas I have found my new favorite bakery in San Francisco. Our daughter brought these treats home for us, and we love her, but we did not leave any for her. We tried! but I’m telling you, these were too delicious. Each bite made me sad that we didn’t have more. This week I’m going to go in myself and get a full size pie. I’ll run there if I have to in order to absorb the calories! This bakery is magical. I don’t know how Yvonne does it, but wow, sis. I’m equal parts impressed and grateful. See you soon!
November 01 · Katherine CarlinMy vibes was not sure of the customer service that I received today. So I could not give a five star. The old school sugar cookies melt in your mouth. The other desserts I never tried.
December 14 · Kim CarterJust my first time walking by. Friendly people and a tasty cookie. They're about to celebrate their 12th year in business. I look forward to trying other sweets in the future!
