What is Worth Choosing
When deciding on a breakfast spot in the Dallas area, 1st Donuts in Garland distinguishes itself by mastering the blend of quantity and quality, focusing heavily on menu diversity that appeals directly to the Texan palate. The main reason to choose this bakery is its superior offering in the savory category, which is essential to the local donut shop experience. They have evolved the sausage roll—known regionally as a kolache or properly as a klobasnek—into a true specialty item.
The Sausage Bacon Rolls and the Jalapeño Bacon Rolls are significant highlights. These are next-level breakfast pastries that elevate the standard sausage-in-a-blanket concept by integrating rich bacon flavor and spicy jalapeño heat directly into the experience. This level of creativity and specialization in savory items is a powerful draw that sets them apart from the competition. For those seeking something lighter but equally unique, the Spinach Pastry has earned a dedicated following and offers a delicious alternative to the traditional meat fillings.
While one older review mentioned issues with food temperature and freshness, the more recent and numerous positive comments highlight the shop's commitment to being fresh and clean with excellent customer service. The overall value, considering the specialized selection and the convenience of offering delivery, in-store pickup, and a variety of quick, payment methods, makes 1st Donuts a highly functional and rewarding stop. When you need a wide variety of fresh donuts, great coffee, and Texas-sized savory breakfast rolls to please the whole family or the office, 1st Donuts on Kingsley Road is definitively worth a visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 11st Donuts has a large variety to choose from, that most Donut shop don't offer. Like the sausage bacon kolache and a delicious spinach pastry. The donuts are awesome. They have an assortment of fun delicious donuts for the kids. 1st Donut offer more choices than any other Donut Shop in my area. This place is always clean, fresh and good customer service! I did not eat spinach until I tried the spinach pastry. I'm hooked, my friend is loving the sausage bacon kolache. I love this place!
January 20 · lyn Jefferson4 nasty dry kolachis 1 cinnamon roll 1 apple fritter tasted like old grease and nasty coffee the only good thing was the apple juice they did not make. Price 17.08 . We will never go back. Best donuts and kolachis are at castle and country club by far. We threw our food away from 1st donuts what a waste of time and money.
August 06 · J.D. McDanel Jr.Great donuts, but won’t allow bikes to be parked just inside the door.Been going here for awhile, at least a couple times a week. Some of the best donuts in the metroplex.Rode my (clean) bike over there and the owner would not let me park my bike inside the door. She rudely shooed me away. I understand they care about cleanliness but I’m not about to leave my $1000 bicycle parked outside in Garland, even for a few minutes. As a loyal customer I felt a bit put off by the whole thing.
March 31 · David TaftMy father in-law suggested this donut shop,I will never go there again. Donuts were not fresh tasting at all, left a bad taste in mine& husband's mouth.Very overpriced, should have stuck to our usual donut shop.We ended up throwing it all away,$20 worth.
August 06 · Kristi McdanelNina was very rude. As I was entering the bathroom before I ordered, she stops me and tells me no pooping. In the restroom. And after I peed I noticed it was no toilet paper. I asked her for toilet paper and she refused to give me toilet paper.I'm never experiencing anything like this before in my life.
