- Fresh Rolls: One of the most consistently praised items, these are a staple for many households and local businesses. Customers often highlight the freshness and quality, making them ideal for everyday meals or special occasions. These rolls are known to be particularly excellent for sandwiches, including the beloved hoagies that are popular across Pennsylvania.
- Fresh Bread: Beyond rolls, a full range of fresh bread is a hallmark of a quality bakery. This would include various loaves, from traditional Italian breads to other classic varieties, perfect for daily consumption or for use by restaurants for their own signature dishes. The emphasis is always on freshness, taste, and a consistent quality that customers can rely on.
- Pizza Shells: This is arguably one of the most significant contributions of a bakery like Agostini to the local culinary scene, especially in a region known as the "Pizza Capital of the World." These shells are legendary, providing the essential foundation for Old Forge-style pizza, whether made at home or served in countless local bars and restaurants. The fact that so many establishments rely on these shells speaks volumes about their quality and the crucial role they play in defining the local pizza identity. Their consistency and unique characteristics are what allow various local eateries to maintain a high standard for their own pizza offerings.
- Wholesale Supply: The mention of restaurants and bars using their shells, and specific businesses relying on their rolls, indicates a strong wholesale component. This service is vital for the local economy, supporting other small businesses and ensuring a consistent supply of quality baked goods across the region.
The distinct features and highlights of a bakery like Agostini underscore its unique position within the local community and its reputation for quality.
- Exceptional Freshness: The recurring theme in customer feedback is the unparalleled freshness of the products. This is a critical factor for any bakery and sets a high standard, ensuring that customers receive the best possible quality for their bread and rolls.
- Regionally Renowned Pizza Shells: The pizza shells are a true local legend. Their widespread use by nearly every pizza-serving establishment in the region (that doesn’t make their own dough) signifies their superior quality and suitability for the distinctive Old Forge pizza. This highlights the bakery's crucial role in shaping and maintaining the local culinary identity. The fact that these shells also empower home cooks to create "great pizza at home" further cements their status as a beloved product.
- Key Supplier for Local Businesses: The bakery serves as an indispensable supplier for numerous local bars, restaurants, and sandwich shops. This B2B relationship is a testament to the consistency, reliability, and quality of the products, which in turn helps these businesses maintain their own standards and offerings. This symbiotic relationship reinforces the bakery's economic and cultural importance.

July 22 · Paula PardiniThere’s a reason why nearly every place in the region that serves pizza (and doesn’t make their own dough) uses their shells. In fact, Agostini’s shells are the main reason why so many bars and restaurants are able to serve quality pizza in the region. They also make it easy to make great pizza at home. Very good and inexpensive.
August 06 · Joel PI'm from Staten Island N.Y., and I'm 56 years old. My wife and I moved to Old Forge Pennsylvania on Monday October 16th, 2023.I've been a milk route truck driver, a Sanitation worker for NYC, and a Commercial Sanitation Route driver; I had many Straight Truck, Air Brakes, CDL Driving jobs ew my life including dump trucks. I KNOW NYC.I had apartments in Brooklyn as well as Staten Island. I worked in every Borough including Yonkers, Westchester County, and many parts of New Jersey, where I also had quite a few apartments over the years. My point?Being Italian/American and submerged in the heritages culture, I'm VERY familiar with GENUINELY AUTHENTIC Italian Breads; and BOTH the right and wrong types of baking them.Agostini's Bread?PHENOMENAL!!!I was shocked at the old fashioned authentic LOOK, TEXTURE, and TERRIFIC TASTE, of the Two different large loaves that I bought:Sesame Seeded Twisted loaf; AND, a Dark Brown loaf of Russian Rye bread. Both, EXCELLENT!I met Rita in the store front and it was like stepping into Cammerieri's Bakery from the Movie 🎥 "MoonStruck ."Or Addeo's Bakery in the Bronx. This 100 year old plus business was purchased by Rita and her husband 2 years ago. They are carrying on the tradition of superior Italian bread and more, and they are carrying the TORCH.I dipped a piece of that Twisted loaf into Extra Virgin Olive oil that was sprinkled with Cracked Black pepper and Cracked Sea Salt, and was drizzled over Fresh Homemade Mozzarella topped with Garden Basil leaves and Juicy Grape Tomatoes. The Bread was DIVINE!Dinner was served with a Barbecued Cheese and Parsley Sausage Ring from Staten Island N.Y., with Homemade Red and Yellow Roasted Bell Peppers, and Green Poblano Roasted Peppers marinating in Olive oil and garden parsley and slices of Raw Garlic cloves.Along with a homemade Pesto my wife makes to perfection, Agostini Bread was a perfect accompaniment to our dinner table. Some home made Sangria and our table was furnished with all of the BEST!Thank you, Agostini Bakery! You have a new permanent patron; ME!GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, ✝🙏🕊💞🥖🍷✝
June 14 · Christopher BelloreThe premade pizza shells I bought at Price Chopper. They're without a doubt the best I've ever had. I followed the directions on the package adding my own cheese, sauce and toppings. In the oven at 375. Wow, simply amazing. If you make your own pizza at home you have to try the Agostini crusts. Crispy, light, perfect.
January 04 · Bore HoleOwner was unbelievable. Had a coupon through local flavor that expired but value of $15 was good until 2026. She refused to honor it. No indoor dining so we didn't use it. Very unreasonable!!
