AWNI HABIBAH SWEETS-حلويات عوني حبيبة Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For residents across the Illinois region, particularly those in the Chicago southwest suburbs, **AWNI HABIBAH SWEETS-حلويات عوني حبيبة** is the premier destination for authentic, world-renowned Middle Eastern confections. Located in Worth, IL, this business is not a general bakery, but a dedicated **Sweets and dessert buffet, Dessert restaurant, and Dessert shop**, specializing in a vast array of Arabic and Oriental sweets with a well-established international reputation. The establishment proudly operates as a **small business** committed to bringing the rich culinary tradition of the Middle East directly to the Illinois community.
The true cornerstone of AWNI HABIBAH SWEETS is its signature dish: **Knafeh (or Kunafa)**. Customers from the South Chicago area highly recommend this dessert, with one review stating, "This is my favorite kunafa place in chicago... and i have tried every other place in south chicago area. This place is still my favorite." The Knafeh is praised for its quality, particularly the smooth, buttery cheese filling (or *khishna*) and the crispy shredded phyllo dough. The menu also features other essential Arabic desserts, including various forms of **Baklava** (pistachio, cashew, mixed), **Maamoul** (nut-filled cookies), **Petit Fours**, and other specialized items like **Harissa** and **Ghraybeh** shortbread.
While the quality of the core products like the Knafeh is widely lauded, one detailed review pointed out significant issues with customer service, lengthy wait times, and discrepancies in orders, particularly with a large order of Knafeh fingers where the cheaper *kishtah* (cream) filling was substituted for the requested *cheese* filling despite paying the price difference. It is important for Illinois customers to note the overwhelming praise for the product quality itself—especially the **Knafeh**—but to be mindful of order accuracy and potential wait times during busy periods. The store offers a sit-down option for a leisurely experience, and customers can pair their sweet selections with a freshly prepared **Coffee**.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1You’d think with such a big name and reputation this place would be top notch on every aspect but it’s not! Rude employees long wait time and lack of customer service and friendliness. Not to mention we have this place a second shot and said let’s give the benefit of doubt only to be even more disappointed!! We ordered three of the biggest size kınafa fingers and we asked two of them to be cheese and one kishtah only to be surprised as we start serving “ which is when it would be too late to address them “ that all were kishtah tho we emphasized what we wanted when we ordered!! Reminder that the kishtah is the cheaper option and we got the whole order that way. tho we paid the difference!! And for a total purchase of $220 was going to be charged an extra $20 if we opted for a card as method of payment!! Never again and I don’t recommend this place period because it pretty much lacks everything and most of all honestly and manners.as you can see in photos the food isn’t even well prepared or neatly done.UPDATE: no it was actually all kishtah and yes one box was labeled kishtah and the two others weren’t but it was all definitely the same which was kishtah!
April 22 · M ArmaThis is my favorite kunafa place in chicago..and there are so many to choose from and i have tried every other place in south chicago area. This place is still my favorite. So glad they opened!Highly recoment the khishna. The cheese is so smoothn cuts like butter.
April 23 · Tahany MoslehNice people, fresh kenafa ,better than Z or M or other names in all USA, try it, also the drinks are from Jordan
July 27 · Esam AlnajjarSo the kunafa is good but that younger dude serving the sweets has very very bad attitudes. It was my first time there but this place doesn’t have a bad reputation in the community it’s true I mean not only does he speak with a bad tone but he also doesn’t answer you’re question when you ask them about a particular item honest to God the only reason nothing happened in that place yesterday was because I had my family waiting in the car when you look and start sizing up you’re customer that’s very disrespectful I don’t believe this guy knows who I am exactly but I will make sure to go there again and file a complaint to the owner and I really really hope I don’t run into that again. And by the way this isn’t the same name or owners found in the wehdat Amman. Asked them they said they’re not affiliated with habibam in Amman.
August 28 · M RAwni Habiba Kunafa is a dream come true for anyone who loves Middle Eastern desserts. The kunafa is perfectly golden, crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside — just how mama makes it 😭❤️Every bite melts in your mouth and brings back warm memories of home. The sweetness is just right, and the pistachios on top? Chef’s kiss 👌✨Not only is the dessert amazing, but the place itself is full of warmth and love. Awni and his team treat every customer like family.Thank you for bringing so much joy and sweetness into our lives ya Awni Habiba! 🥰🇵🇸
