Located conveniently in downtown Northfield, the bakery has cultivated a reputation for warmth, freshness, and dedication to classic baking techniques.
The core philosophy of the Brick Oven Bakery is centered on traditional, preservative-free baking. As noted by loyal patrons, the commitment to making items fresh each day is a significant draw, a remarkable feature in today’s fast-paced world. This ensures that every pastry, loaf of bread, and sweet treat offers a genuine, ‘just-baked’ flavor that simply cannot be replicated. This dedication to quality resonates deeply with the Minnesota consumer, who appreciates transparency and effort in food preparation.
Visitors can anticipate a friendly, professional, and slightly energetic atmosphere. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Yum! Super good bakery and tasty! Good spot for a nice treat. Staff was super kind! Not my typical cafe/bakery that I'd go to because the crowd was older and talking quite a bit. Still great tho!
March 20 · Espen DinneenI'm drawn here because their baked items are made fresh each day and - handcrafted breads and pastries without preservatives. That’s remarkable in today’s world. You can pick up day-old baked items at reduced prices; but I prefer to go early and buy what’s fresh out of the oven. Nothing tastes as good as that. It’s nice for lunches, too. The Café Selection, especially sandwiches, use the bread they make and fill them with tasty combinations. It’s an ideal spot to take your children, catch up with friends, or as I do, host a business coffee, and/or often get something to go. Check out the community table – it really shows great support and loyalty to local residents. The pastry section, since I am such a scone connoisseur, is my favorite. There is no missing the “just-baked” flavor that makes them worth the calories. Every time I’m there I see people buying their caramel nut rolls – only my mom’s recipe beats them 😊.There are made with lots of butter and are chucked full of caramel. While you can purchase them with & without nuts, we prefer the nut version. It’s also very nice that these and many other items re for sale and in both mini and large sizes. The staff are vey friendly, this is something that I find is more common in small towns. I enjoy the chat about menu options, how the food is made, the baking schedule, and why they are so proud of their coffee. Check out this video where I’m filming, and the bakers are so pleasant and waving so friendly. It's a easy to go place for people with wheelchairs. You can enter in the back parking lot and not have to deal with any stair steps or ramp.
October 28 · Jeannie HillGreat foodExtremely slow service. Self-serve coffee was empty so had to wait in line a second time to get the girl's attention. Finally got my coffee, then found the creamer was empty too. Back in line for a third time to get the creamer refilled.I thought I could pop in for a loaf of bread and a coffee but I wasn't expecting such a lengthy ordeal.
August 24 · John HostermanDiscovered Brick Oven Bakery items one day while at Blue Nose Coffee. Great stuff! So now we cruise to Northfield because its worth the trip. Our current faves include almond croissant, double chocolate cookies, cowboy cookies, Mn rice bread, any scone flavor 🙂. We havent had a bad baked good. They also have a veggie croissant sandwich and a turkey & apple sandwich that are fantastic! They have a pretty big menu at their location with breakfast & lunch items. If you see Brick Oven Bakery goods somewhere BUY THEM. If you'd like a lovely little drive find them in Northfield. You wont be disappointed!
August 15 · A LlauradoWhat a great bakery! Full breakfast, coffee bar, and so many baked goods to choose from. We really love the giant shelf of discounted day old breads and they’ve got such a collection. We picked up the coffee cake, a loaf of bread, some cookies, and some other specialty items.
