Cake Coquette Introduce
Cake Coquette, helmed by San Francisco native and acclaimed pastry artist Gabrielle Feuersinger, stands out in the competitive California culinary landscape as a top-tier designer of custom wedding and specialty cakes. Since its founding in 2007, this celebrated bakery has been synonymous with turning the most ambitious visions into spectacular works of edible art, catering to a clientele throughout the entire Bay Area. Unlike conventional bakeries, Cake Coquette’s focus is couture cakes—bespoke creations where taste and aesthetics are treated with equal importance. Gabrielle’s extensive training, which includes graduating from the California Culinary Academy and honing her skills on extravagant projects for high-profile clients in Los Angeles, is evident in the masterful execution of every cake.
While weddings are the undisputed specialty, earning the business high praise and features in numerous publications like Brides Northern California, The Knot, and Martha Stewart Weddings, the creations from Cake Coquette are sought after for virtually every type of significant event. Whether it's a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a high-profile launch party, or an elaborate shower, clients turn to this San Francisco gem for a dessert that is guaranteed to impress. The reputation for excellence extends beyond stunning visuals; customers consistently rave about the incredible flavor and texture of the cakes. As one happy customer noted after a tasting, the cake was so "moist and soft," they mistakenly thought it was baked that morning, a testament to the bakery’s superior ingredients and multi-day preparation process.
The exceptional quality of the cakes is often highlighted by comparisons to other vendors. The contrast is clear when clients experience the Cake Coquette difference—flavorful cakes with appropriate, non-overly-sweet fillings that make flavors like raspberry and red velvet, often polarizing, surprisingly palatable and even "pleasing to the palate." This capability to transform common perceptions of classic flavors demonstrates the true artistry behind the baking. The dedication of Gabby and her team to client satisfaction also shines through in their service. One couple shared a story of how Gabby "went above and beyond to make sure we had our cake on time" when they ran into a pickup hitch on their wedding weekend, illustrating the level of committed support offered to every client. This combination of culinary excellence and outstanding professionalism is why Cake Coquette is consistently recommended by trend-setting Bay Area brides and event planners.
The flavor menu itself is a testament to sophisticated indulgence, moving far beyond standard offerings. The selection includes classics elevated by technique and surprising combinations that tempt even the most discerning palate. Options such as Chocolate Coconut Cake with ganache and toasted coconut cream, Salted Caramel Cake with buttercream and toffee, and the Classic White Cake layered with raspberry puree and vanilla cream cheese, showcase the breadth and depth of the bakery’s offerings. The commitment to using the highest quality ingredients, including a noted preference for a smooth, beautiful, and tasty buttercream over fondant for the icing, is a signature element that many clients appreciate and specifically seek out. Cake Coquette is truly a leader of cake-design in the Bay Area, turning personal visions into delicious realities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Gabby and her team at Cake Coquette made our wedding cake, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Not only was it absolutely delicious, but she also brought our vision to life beautifully. Gabby was a joy to work with, and our friends and family are still talking about how much they loved the cake!I will also mention that Gabby went above and beyond to make sure we had our cake on time, when we ran into a hitch with pickup the weekend of the wedding. We are so grateful for the support! If you're looking for a cake for any occasion, Cake Coquette is the place to go!
August 09 · Miriam OfsteinPleasantly surprised in our wedding cake tasting. The cake was flavorful and the filling gave an appropriate flavor accent without being overly sweet. It was a day and night difference compared to the wedding venue’s default cake vendor. We were telling Gabby about our experience with the other bakery and how the cake tasted old. Gabby told us the cake decorating process is multi-day process and that the cake we’re eating was actually refrigerated. Wow, it was so moist and soft we thought it was baked earlier in the day. (I’m wondering how she accomplishes this in her recipe, more eggs to increase emulsifying the oils? 🧐)I don’t like raspberry and I particularly don’t like red velvet cake. To my surprise the raspberry filling actually tasted good…not just non-repulsive, but actually pleasing to the palate. This was the first time in my life where the red velvet cake didn’t leave a funny aftertaste. I was being surprised left and right. In the end I chose a coconut plus chocolate ganache cake. Its ironic, as my parents will attest, I am the most anti-coconut Asian in existence. 😆I am going to assign the Bestman the task of swiping me an extra slice.🍰My fiancee picked the strawberry-raspberry cake for the top tier. The accompanying cupcake assortment will be red velvet, salted caramel toffee, and vanilla raspberry. But in all honesty, you can’t go wrong with anything it all tastes delicious.😋
May 26 · Lawrence MarwongAs a cake baker myself, I was really picky about who I would want to make my wedding cake. After trying three different bakers in the area, here are the reasons we are so glad we went with Cake Coquette:- BUTTERCREAM DREAM! I was adamant about NOT using fondant on my cake, but still having a beautiful cake. Their buttercream is not too sweet, and she was able to commit and deliver on complex piping that lasted for hours on our wedding day.- CUSTOM DESIGN. I had a very specific sketch I wanted, and Cake Coquette worked with us on making it come true. We also cut our cake with a sword (lol) so she understood that it needed to survive the cut.- FLAVOR OPTIONS. Of all the cake boxes we tried, they had the widest range to try, and they were all solid choices.- COOL STUDIO. If you get a chance, try to see their studio in SF. It’s really beautiful, and they have display sizes of different cakes so you can get a sense of what you want.PROFESSIONALISM. Timely responses, reasonable rates.DELIVERY. Our venue was in the Santa Cruz area, farther from SF, through windy mountain roads. The cake made it perfectly. Thanks all for making my cake dreams come true!
June 24 · Julianna Gram & Theodore YoungWorking with Gabby at Cake Coquette to create a custom Discord birthday cake was such a wonderful experience. She brought our vision to life with a cake that was fun, creative, and perfectly on brand; it truly stole the show. Gabby was thoughtful in the design process, incorporating all the elements I requested and adding her own beautiful touches. Not only did the cake look incredible, but it tasted amazing too. She was organized, responsive, and made delivery and setup seamless. I can’t wait to work with Gabby again on another special cake!
June 05 · Taryn ConroyI threw a 50th birthday bash for my wife at a venue in SF that has art deco vibes. My wife’s Chinese zodiac sign is the tiger, so there was a tiger theme element to the party. I reached out to Gabby at Cake Coquette, and ordered a 3 tier cake. I informed Gabby about the tiger theme and she asked me about the venue. Within a few days she sent me a sketch of a cake that incorporated both the tiger theme and the art deco vibes of the venue. The end result was a beautiful and delicious red velvet cake! The cake was absolutely stunning and perfectly complimented the party themes. Beyond all expectations. My wife loved the cake and we received compliments on the cake all night. The compliments continued the following evening when we had some family over to finish the leftover red velvet cake. It was so good. Cake Coquette is now my go to cake bakery in SF. Thank you Gabby and Cake Coquette !!!
