**Important Note on Customer Service and Quality Control:** Public reviews, however, indicate challenges with specialty orders, including reports of cakes crumbling and major mistakes on custom designs. For Hialeah and South Florida residents, what is fundamentally worth choosing about Cakes by Cary is their **specialization in and expertise with the Dominican Cake** and other traditional Latin desserts. If you are specifically seeking a high-quality, authentic Dominican Cake—a favorite for many large family celebrations in Florida—this establishment has the reputation and the long history (since 1985) to deliver on that traditional flavor profile. The availability of diverse, single-serving desserts like the **3 Leches** and **Arroz Con Leche** also makes it a convenient spot for a quick, delicious Latin dessert fix.
However, when considering this business for a complex or high-stakes custom order, such as a wedding cake, local users should weigh the celebrated artistry and flavor against the publicly documented concerns regarding quality control and customer service follow-up. While the bakery has garnered praise for its visual designs and flavor, reviews indicate that clients ordering expensive, specialty items should be extremely diligent in confirming every detail and expectation.
Ultimately, Cakes by Cary is best chosen for its established history in specialized Latin baking and for its highly-rated signature items, providing a distinct offering in the Hialeah community for those who value traditional Dominican and Hispanic sweets.

Cakes by Cary Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I order a cake for my weeding and it was a disaster. The cake totally crumbled into a thousand pieces. I had to serve my guests chunks of cake. I expressed my disappointment to the team and they blame it on my request, they said that that’s what happens with moist cakes, they continued to blame me for what I have asked and not understanding at all. Said they’d get back to me. No one ever did. Be careful with this business when you order.
April 27 · Marcos ReveronVery disappointed. The cake I received was eaten but was not as ordered. Major mistakes made on an expensive specialty cake with very little filling between layers. I graciously accepted a 50% refund, fully expecting the owner to follow up with a phone call explaining what happened and how it will be avoided in the future. Regrettably I cannot recommend their services due to no quality control. Their customer service is sorely lacking for such a small business that depends on word of mouth. NOTE ADDED AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: 1st time I have ever ordered a cake from this establishment, why would you lie? Owner’s responses to bad reviews speaks volumes about their lack of customer service skills!
May 13 · Lorns PumpiThis is my 2nd time ordering from Cary. My daughter wanted a Coraline theme for her 18th Birthday. The cake was beautiful! We loved the details on it. The only negative was that it was a little dry although we requested a moist cake. It had a bit of a bitter aftertaste as well. I would go back but maybe order a different filling. We had the dulce de leche. The staff is nice. Had no issues with customer service.
July 11 · Elba RamirezI would of given a 5 star had it not been for the lack of customer service skills I saw from the girl with the long braids. She wasn’t friendly and dismissive to other customers. The girl I had taking care of me was very nice and professional. The cake it’s self was beyond wonderful.
March 02 · Marcia ChavianoThe cake was good until I picked a hair out of it. The hair was very short and lighter than my hair. This is gross. My mom bought the cake today and we waited in line it was an order made by Yssania. Please start wearing hair nets whoever made this.
