Camellia | Vegan Patisserie Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Camellia | Vegan Patisserie is a shining example of Portland’s dynamic and inclusive culinary scene. Far more than just a regular Bakery or Dessert shop, Camellia is a specialized Patisserie operating primarily through pop-ups and as a popular vendor at local events like the Farmers' market. The business has garnered exceptional praise from both the vegan and non-vegan community for its delicate, French-inspired, and entirely plant-based creations.
At its core, Camellia is a labor of love, drawing inspiration from tea, botany, and the distinct Pacific Northwest environment to create beautiful, balanced, and unique treats. Customers consistently rave about the exquisite quality, noting that the treats offer “perfect texture, great flavor without being overly sweet, and beautiful presentation.” Signature items like the classic French canelés, delicate macarons, and the airy pavlova are frequently highlighted. One customer enthusiastically noted they got the pavlova, canelés, and macarons and proclaimed “Everything was amazing,” even getting the stamp of approval from a non-vegan spouse. This is the ultimate destination for those in Oregon seeking gourmet desserts that defy expectations of plant-based baking.
Beyond the food, Camellia represents the best of Portland’s community values. It proudly Identifies as Latino-owned, Identifies as LGBTQ+ owned, and Identifies as women-owned, making it a significant Small business to support. The atmosphere is openly LGBTQ+ friendly, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity and welcoming all patrons, even four-legged ones, as the policy notes Dogs allowed inside during their market appearances or specific pop-up locations.
Location and Accessibility
As a specialized pop-up operation, Camellia | Vegan Patisserie does not maintain a permanent, daily retail storefront at the listed address (NE Wygant St & NE 7th Ave, Portland, OR 97211). Instead, the business focuses on being a vibrant, mobile participant in the local community, often appearing at Farmers' market locations and collaborating with other local businesses for drop-offs. The official intersection listed (NE Wygant St & NE 7th Ave) is a general area of operation, but local users must check the business's social media or specific vendor pages for the most up-to-date schedule and exact location for that week—this is critical information for planning a visit to secure their often sold out goodies.
While the physical location changes, the business’s service model is built around accessibility and modern convenience. Camellia has a strong online presence, where pre-orders are frequently encouraged to ensure customers can secure their favorites before the pop-up opens and sells out. Payment options are fast and efficient, accepting Debit cards and NFC mobile payments.

- High Sell-Out Risk (Proof of Popularity): The need to “show up early to pop ups” due to the bakery “frequently sell out” is a testament to the treats' high demand and superior quality within the local market.
- Widely Loved by All Diets: Reviews highlight that even non-vegan patrons “loved them,” positioning Camellia as a top-tier patisserie regardless of dietary preference.

What is Worth Choosing
For local users in Oregon looking for a genuinely special treat, Camellia | Vegan Patisserie should be at the very top of your list. What is worth choosing here is the opportunity to taste world-class French-inspired baking that is entirely plant-based and executed with remarkable skill and creativity. Since their goods are known to sell out fast, planning your visit based on their pop-up schedule is the first priority.
You absolutely must try the items that get the most attention in customer reviews: the canelés, the pavlova, and the macarons. The canelé, with its signature caramelized crust and soft, custard-like interior, is notoriously difficult to perfect, and Camellia’s vegan version is considered a triumph. Similarly, the pavlova offers a light, crisp meringue texture that challenges every preconception of vegan desserts. Also, keep an eye out for their unique tea cakes, such as the Earl Grey and lavender flavor, which are described as a perfect pairing with a hot pot of tea. The beauty and flavor of these treats are such that one customer immediately wished they had bought “way more” after their first bite.
By choosing Camellia, you are supporting a Small business rooted in integrity and identity—a Latino-owned, LGBTQ+ owned, and women-owned establishment that delivers excellence with every perfectly presented pastry. This is a local gem worth seeking out, queuing for, and definitely pre-ordering from.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Delicious! We got the pavlova, caneles, and macarons to try. Everything was amazing. I’ve been vegan 18 years so I can’t compare to non vegan versions but my husband is not vegan and also loved them. Super happy I noticed the pop-up on instagram. Highly recommend.
April 20 · Lindsey S.Perfect treats! Ordered a few different baked goods an all were delicious. The flavors are great and the sweetness levels were just right.
February 15 · R Zabsolutely delicious and beautiful pastries! the presentation of everything was flawless and beautiful. unique flavors. i got only one thing, the yuzu madeline, but wish i had gotten way more. i’ll definitely be back to the king farmers market to try their other stuff. owner was very friendly and cool, i will definitely support again! no pictures because it was gone without a trace in 0.3 seconds after i bought it :D
July 23 · Michelle ALove the tea cakes, especially with a hot pot of tea! Earl grey and lavender is one of my favorites. I included a photo of the matcha tea cake with strawberry icing. It was so good!! I'm not gluten free, but many of her desserts are gf. They're also balanced well and not overly sweet. You should definitely support this small business, because she's amazing, passionate, and is a great community member that supports other local businesses and uplifts other vegan restaurants as well.
May 24 · Rhi AnaReally delicious vegan and GF pastries! The earl grey and lavender tea cake is my favorite and the savory biscuits are a close second but honestly everything is a 10/10!Owner is very lovely and kind!
