Cheesetella Introduce
Welcome to the delightful world of Cheesetella, a beloved cake shop and bakery nestled in the heart of Los Angeles. For California dessert enthusiasts in search of a unique, light, and utterly satisfying sweet treat, Cheesetella is a destination that truly stands out. Specializing in the magnificent Castella cake and the ethereal Japanese Souffle Cheesecake, this bakery has mastered the art of creating desserts celebrated for their signature fluffy, jiggly texture and balanced, subtle sweetness.
Cheesetella brings a fusion of Japanese and Korean-inspired baking techniques to Los Angeles, creating a menu that is both traditional and innovative. The Castella cake, an iconic wagashi (traditional Japanese confectionery) with historical Portuguese origins, is the star of the show. Unlike heavier sponge cakes, Castella is renowned for its moist, fine-grained texture and delicate sweetness derived from eggs and honey. Cheesetella has taken this classic and elevated it with creative, modern twists that appeal to a diverse L.A. palate.
The core of Cheesetella's appeal lies in its commitment to a perfectly airy texture. Many customers rave about the desserts being so light and fluffy that they can enjoy an entire cake without the heavy feeling typically associated with a traditional full cheesecake. This distinctive quality has quickly made it a local favorite for everything from casual treats to special occasion desserts like birthdays and celebrations. The bakery provides a clean, inviting atmosphere, making it a pleasant stop for a quick indulgence.

One customer highlighted this perfectly, noting that the cakes are "so light and fluffy!" and that even eating a whole one doesn't leave you feeling "awful" like a traditional cheesecake might. This is the ultimate selling point for those who desire a decadent treat that feels surprisingly gentle on the palate.

The Creamtella is a perfect starting point, combining the signature soft sponge with a delightful, not-too-sweet whipped cream filling. Reviewers call it "delightful" and a "perfect combination."

Finally, the Japanese Souffle Cheesecake is the quintessential soft-bake item; light, airy, and melting in your mouth. Whether you choose the classic version or a flavored option like Choco or Mocha, you are guaranteed a high-quality, memorable dessert.
Cheesetella is more than just a cake shop; it is a celebration of soft, airy, and subtly flavored desserts. Next time you're in Los Angeles and craving a treat that's perfect for any occasion—from a self-consolation prize to a grand birthday celebration—make your way to Koreatown and experience the delightful jiggle of a Castella cake. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love love love this place. It’s such a perfect treat for anytime - birthdays, anniversaries, friendsgivings, break up consolations, anything goes! I can’t in good conscience recommend doing this but if you end up eating an entire one, you won’t feel as awful like if you had eaten an entire cheesecake. These are so light and fluffy! The chocolate isn’t too overly sweet and the castella are just divine.
February 20 · Ashley WeinbergerAbsolute must go if you love soft and jiggly castella cake! We got a Creamtella, which is essentially castella cake with whipped cream filling, and it was delightful! The cake is super soft and jiggly and the cream was light and sweet - a perfect combination. If you're feeling like something a little more salty, definitely try the Cheesetella. It's essentially the castella cake with slices of cheese in it - sounds weird, but tastes oddly delicious.
February 28 · Kat ChanExtremely disappointed. Loved the first time while visiting socal but it's been a disappointment every time. Made it a point to pick some up those time and quality isn't there. As a baker I can tell you your oven temperature is out of what and you may be losing seal/temp-+Top layer is just dry and bottom dense. In other words it didn't bake evenly through. Bought 2 this time both are bad with one worse. I so want to like y'all and I so want my money back.
September 04 · Rebecca MI crave this taiwanese style fluffy sponge cake with whipped cream inside once every other month. The cake is so light but can be dry if consumed too much at one time. The whipped cream is the resolution for it! Lightly sweet and goes so well with the cake. Love their cheesecake too🩷
March 31 · goim kimMy friend brought me birthday gift as a cheesetella cake! So yummy! I loved it!I will buy again for next time!
