★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Best donuts in Utah County! We love the Alpine location because it’s closest to us but they are all great! We did a taste test of 8 different donut places in Utah/Salt Lake County (local bakeries and chains) and Daylight won easily!! Get there early, they do sell out fast and when they sell out, they close, obviously.
May 03 · Mika McDanielWe love donuts in our family—easily one of our top 5 favorite treats. We took our kids on a family bike ride to grab a dozen at this Daylight Donuts location and we were fairly pleased. Here are the reasons for the 4-star review.Let’s start with the good: the donuts tasted good to us. They had a large variety and a couple of donuts that I would say are more rare to find at certain donut shops (2 of those being a fruity pebbles sprinkled donut and a Oreo sprinkled donut). Their peach filled bear claw was fantastic! They had some seating available to eat some of your donuts before you head out and take the rest home. They also had a huge community board/wall which we loved—nothing like supporting the local people and companies that are nearby your business. They also serve BYU Creamery ice cream (although at the time of day we were there it did not look like they were serving it).Now for the improvements: I feel bad for the lady that was there boxing up donuts, it seems like she gets a bad rap on here but she was a bit grumpy. She actually yelled at my kids because they were standing on the benches and looking at the picture on the wall (to be fair my kids know better then to stand on benches, but it’s a donut shop for Pete’s sake—calm down donut lady). The shop itself was a bit dirty (just as many have mentioned) but we honestly didn’t care that much. Overall it didn’t have that incredibly warm-homey feeling you get when you go to a donut shop.Hopefully this describes the why behind the 4-star review. I will happily go back here—tasty donuts, great variety of items, slightly grumpy service with a need to tidy up, but overall a good experience. Thanks for filling our bellies with too much sugar!
July 15 · Taylor DietzSo, I've driven by this place dozens of times, and I've always wanted to stop byToday was the day, and I'm pretty happy that I did drop in.It is a pretty small place, and it looked as if it was being run by a mother and her daughter, when I visited. They were very friendly, and I appreciate the items that I had the chance to purchase. One thing to know, this place makes donuts in the morning, and after they sell out, the store closes. When I dropped in, at 9:30, they were almost out. ... I say, you have to drop by, around 7:30 or 8:00, if you want a decent selection. The donuts were okay, not the best, but I'm still happy I got them.I was really happy with the little bag that you could get, with just donut holes.
November 24 · Rev. C McFarlandDelicious, fresh donuts if you live near Alpine. We wish they stayed open later than 12:00 Noon.
August 01 · Brent FullertonI have tried so many times to give Daylight Donuts a chance, but I just can’t approve it as excellent donuts. They are average donuts, a step above grocery store donuts. I am not a fan at all. I would spend my money elsewhere, like Lehi Bakery, Provo bakery, and several other places. They are always too sugary and the dough tastes to light and cheap. If you are really craving sweets near Alpine, I recommend you gets some cookies at Fiiz or head over to Meier’s bakery. They have many excellent options, including donuts.
