What is Worth Choosing
For Missouri customers, choosing Daylight Donuts at this Springfield location is fundamentally about prioritizing two things: the unique quality of the baked goods and the convenience of service.
The most worthwhile choices are the Signature Raised Yeast Donuts. Customers consistently point out that the texture is uniquely "perfectly doughy and not too sweet," providing a distinct and highly addictive flavor profile that truly sets Daylight Donuts apart in the market. The classics, such as the Glazed Ring Dozen or the Mixed Ring Dozen, offer the best value and variety to experience this signature dough.
For those who prefer a more adventurous indulgence, the "Fancy" Donuts are worth the slightly higher price point. Items like the Apple Fritters and Bear Claws offer substantial, flavorful portions. They are a great choice for satisfying a larger appetite or sharing with a small group. Furthermore, to combat the occasionally unpredictable operating hours highlighted in customer feedback, it is highly recommended to choose the Drive-through Service—it’s the fastest and most efficient way to secure your order once the shop is open for the day.
Finally, the combination of a donut and the Hot Coffee—a recognized highlight—is an essential purchase. The house coffee blend is specifically chosen to complement the sweetness of the donuts, creating a balanced and classic breakfast pairing. Customers looking for a satisfying, classic Missouri breakfast that is both high in quality and convenient should choose Daylight Donuts, remembering to call ahead or check online platforms for confirmed open hours to ensure a successful visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Thank you so much for the delicious donuts and sweet message, Daylight is always and forever my absolute favorite! The donuts are perfectly doughy and not too sweet like most other places. The most unique tasting donuts in my opinion. When you're craving a daylight, nothing else will work!
May 27 · Sarah HoodI've given this place more chances than I'd like to admit because they're a small business, they're one of the only legit donut places on this side of town, and the owners, when they're available, are pretty friendly. But I won't return, here's why...Today was the 4th or 5th time across the past six months that I've driven from Willard to Springfield with the sole purpose of enjoying fresh Daylight donuts only to find that, even though Google says they are open, and even though their front door says they *should* be open, they are not open.I am not the first person to say this. It's a regular thing for them and you can see that reflected in their reviews, and, as I found out this morning, on their Facebook page where they sometimes make posts. Here's a sample of those posts from the last 3 months...Aug 26 (Today) - Nothing posted...Aug 22 - "Closed today. Front of house is not doing good."Aug 21 - "Opening late, aiming for 6:30"Aug 12 - "Will open 6 today"July 31 - "We will be closed today. Not feeling the best."July 23 - "Opening 6 today dough is not being friendly"July 5 - "Closed today"June 27 - "Opening 7am"June 26 - "Closed"June 25 - "Open at 6"June 21 - "Sorry...no one to make donuts tonight"June 17 - "Sorry we will be closed my head is not feeling right."June 13 - "Open at 6 today got a late start"May 31 - "Closed till Tuesday"May 30 - "Sorry all we are closed for today this has been a bad month"May 24 - "Closed for weather"May 22 - "We will be closed today"May 18 - "We will be closed today"May 13 - "Apologize about yesterday but we really didn't think anyone wanted contaminated donuts"May 4 - "Closed this morning"FYI, their stated hours on Google and their front door are:M - F 5am to 11amS - S 6am - 11am.The owner usually has an excuse ready. Her husband screwed up the dough. The dog ate their supply. Whatever. Each time I visit, I spend money on gas just for the CHANCE to spend money with you only to find out I've wasted gas and time and now have to listen to my kid's disappointment when I explain why we drove all the way out just so we can turn around and drive all the way home with nothing. Look, if you can't run this business, sell it to someone who can.For everyone who lives in Willard, get donuts at the Washboard Cafe or at the Apple Market grocery store. They're not Daylight, but you'll save time, gas, and disappointment AND you'll actually come away with donuts...
August 26 · Alexander DeVilleSays they open at 6:00 a.m. 7 days a week but yet here it is 7:00 a.m. and they're closed not good for business considering this is like the fourth time I've tried this and they've not been open when they claim to be.. 🤔
May 18 · Casey MulhollandPrepaid for 3 dozen doughnuts, get here and all the lights are off and the door is locked. What’s the point of me prepaying if you’re going to sell my doughnuts to someone else. Google better refund my money or I’ll be camping out front to get my money back. What a horrible way to run a business. I’d give negative stars if possible. Now I have no doughnuts for our meeting.
March 05 · Matt SCame here for the 1st time this morning after several recommendations the donuts tasted like the grease was old. Giving 3 stars because the lady working the counter was very sweet and wanted to give great service. Had bought donuts for my whole store team. Everybody thought they tasted like old grease.
