Del Norte Bakery #4 Introduce
When Texans in the Dallas area are looking for a taste of authentic, family-run Mexican-American baking, the name Del Norte Bakery frequently comes up. Del Norte Bakery #4, situated conveniently on Falls Drive, represents one of the four established locations under the trusted Rivas family banner. This location serves the Westmoreland Heights community and surrounding areas, aiming to provide customers with the traditional flavors and baked goods that the Del Norte name has become associated with since its founding in 1989. For many Texans, a trip to a local panadería, or Mexican bakery, is a deep-rooted tradition, whether for Sunday morning sweet bread, a special occasion cake, or holiday tamales. Del Norte Bakery #4 endeavors to uphold this tradition by offering a selection of popular items for a quick, satisfying visit.
The Del Norte Bakery family history is a classic Dallas story of hard work and dedication. What began decades ago as a single storefront acquired by the Rivas family, who were new to the baking business, has since grown into a multi-location enterprise, with each branch often managed by a different family member. The longevity of the Del Norte brand speaks to its sustained appeal within the diverse Dallas community, which appreciates the specific cultural touchstones found in its offerings, from the moistness of a well-made tres leches cake to the comforting texture of fresh pan dulce. This particular location, Del Norte Bakery #4, focuses on making these celebrated items accessible to customers on the southwest side of Dallas.
Mexican-American bakeries hold a special place in the hearts of Texans. They are often defined by a rich variety of sweet breads and pastries known as pan dulce, which translates literally to 'sweet bread.' These range from the famous conchas, with their seashell-like sugared topping, to the savory-sweet empanadas and crisp polvorones. For celebrations across Texas, particularly in communities with strong Hispanic roots, the tres leches cake, a sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk, is an undisputed favorite. While the broader Del Norte organization is well-known for its specialty cakes, wedding cakes, and seasonal items like tamales sold from Thursday through Sunday at some locations, Del Norte Bakery #4 on Falls Drive offers a localized spot for Dallas locals to access these baked staples. It’s an essential stop for planning parties, satisfying a craving for a warm sweet treat, or picking up dinner rolls, known as bolillos.
The business environment of a multi-location, family-run enterprise often means that while the core product quality is shared, the customer experience and specific menu availability can vary slightly between the different branches, as is common in any decentralized model. Del Norte Bakery #4 strives to meet the daily needs of its patrons efficiently and with a consistent supply of baked goods. Their emphasis is on convenience, offering easy grab-and-go options for those in a hurry. The business model is geared towards quick service, ensuring that patrons can pop in for a brief but satisfying stop during their busy day.
Maintaining high standards across multiple locations can present challenges, and customer feedback, as seen in public reviews, sometimes highlights areas for improvement, particularly concerning specific product consistency or customer service interactions at various branches, including the Falls Drive location. Nevertheless, the continuous operation and visibility of Del Norte Bakery #4 demonstrate its commitment to serving the local Dallas community and continuing the family legacy of bringing Mexican-American baked goods to a broad Texan audience. It remains a valuable local source for specialized bakery items often hard to find elsewhere.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Falls Location Specifically - i chose to overlook the misspelled words, even the poor icing writing…but the thin, older lady that works there is rude and unpleasant. She acts inconvenienced to get asked for help. The nice people that worked there before moved to the singleton location. I’d rather drive further for better service
August 09 · Your MomCardboard Cake!! 🤢🤮So disappointed and embarrassed . I Ordered a cake from DEL NORTE Mexican Bakery on Falls Drive In OC .. for the Baby Shower .. Never again!! The cake was nothing at all what I ordered. It was so dry.. no strawberry nor pineapple fruit filling between the layers, ( instead pink frosting) No one like it.. ended up in the trash. Pay 80$ .. I text the owner and sent pictures and told him that the cake was nothing like he and I had discussed and asked for a refund.. no response as of yet! Please don’t waste your time and money! B*d business!
August 04 · Rose Ann MartinezI had 2 different cake pics & had it combined into 1. It came out absolutely amaziiiing! I loved this cake. My daughter loved it! It was really soft & moist, great taste & not overly sweet which I like! Definitely will order again! 🤗🤤🍰🍰🍰 Thanks guys!!! My favorite was the marble with strawberry filling! Delicious! But the velvet & white cake were also yummy!
June 07 · Kimberly RamirezMy family and I always buy their Tres leches cake to celebrate our birthdays,. The best Tre leches ever!
May 11 · Jordi RosalesLove their barbacoa, but they sold us a spoiled cake. Cake was purchased on 12/9/24, and was cut at night on 12/10/24 for a birthday party and it smelled rancid. If you buy a cake from here make sure to give it a sniff test before they close because they will get mad at you for not returning it the same day, and give you a hard time when you attempt to get compensation. The lettering on the cake was also not the best….
