This partnership ensures that the coffee is strong, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the donuts. Hot and iced options, including the Dark Matter Cold Brew and Dark Matter Iced Havana, are available.
- All-Natural Chicken Sandwiches and Tenders: Going beyond the sweets, the shop is equally famous for its savory offerings, particularly its all-natural Crispy Chicken Sandwiches (like the Original, Hot & Spicy, or CBR) and Chicken Tenders, which are often cited as top-notch fast-casual fare.

This isn't a place that does one thing well and the other as an afterthought; it’s a master of both sweet and savory comfort food.
First and foremost, the donuts themselves are a major draw. The variety is truly impressive, moving beyond basic glazes to offer flavors like the tangy Pistachio (with Meyer Lemon glaze), the satisfyingly salty-sweet Candied Maple Bacon, and a plethora of classic favorites. For many in Illinois with dietary concerns, the quality of the Gluten-Free and Vegan options is the single biggest reason to visit. Customer reviews repeatedly praise the quality of these specialty items, noting that the gluten-free donuts, in particular, evoke the taste and texture of a 'regular' cake donut, which is a rare feat in the bakery world.
Second, the establishment’s dedication to a full menu is why it's a versatile choice for any time of day. The breakfast sandwiches are a favorite among regulars, providing a hearty, well-seasoned start to the morning. And you absolutely cannot overlook the crispy chicken. The chicken sandwiches are a great option for an earlier lunch, offering a robust flavor profile that stands toe-to-toe with dedicated chicken joints.
Finally, the partnership with Dark Matter Coffee elevates the entire experience. It ensures that your drink order isn't an afterthought but a central part of the overall high-quality offering. From a quick coffee and donut stop to a full meal, Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken provides a consistently delicious and accommodating experience that makes it a must-visit local spot in the heart of Chicago.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had read reviews about their gluten free donuts being delicious. I was not prepared for the nostalgia the birthday cake gf donut evoked in me. I hadn’t had a donut that tasted like a “regular” one since going gluten free. There have been “good” ones, but never one that reminded me of the kind of cake donuts from the bakery when I was a child. If their gf donuts are this good, I can’t imagine how delicious the regular ones would be. Don’t hesitate to go there now.
September 18 · Jill SchroederI placed an online order and received a text when my order might be ready. I didn't really pay attention to the decor. There are seats for dine-in. The colorful display of donuts caught my attention more than anything. Everything looked so good!I ordered 4 donuts and a large coffee, not bad for the quality and unique flavors they offer. I was a little underwhelmed when I tried the donuts, though. My favorite was the Buttermilk old-fashioned. It had a slight crisp on some of the outer parts, and the inside was soft and cakey. The sweetness was perfect. I'd order it again and again. The glazed was good. I'd order it again. I was disappointed in the fritter. It tasted pretty average. I think i just had higher hopes for it. The cream on the cheese Danish was delicious. It was a bit messy, and I think it needs to be packed differently than the other donuts. The cream was slathered all over the inside of my bag and had gotten on the other donuts. The Danish part was just ok. I wouldn't get it again if I'm not dining in. It was just too messy. My biggest complaint was the coffee. I was so disappointed. I couldn't even finish it. It was bland, and I could not taste the vanilla flavor that I paid extra for. I won't get it again.I will be back to try their other donut flavors and maybe a chicken sandwich one day. They close kinda early, so you have to catch them for an earlier lunch or eat a chicken sandwich for breakfast. Parking is paid street parking. If you order ahead and just run in for your order, you should be fine with not paying. That's what I did.
April 13 · Theisha FrazierGot a spicy chicken sandwich and a maple bacon donut. I did not have high expectations for either, but once i bit into the donut i was in heaven it is soft and flavorful the bacon is soft but not too soft or soggy amazing taste. The sandwich was delicious whatever that green sauce they put on it keep doing it because its amazing, chicken was juicy and tender but the breading had enough crisp to it the lettuce and pickle help with the balance. Only bad thing at least for me i wish it had a bit more kick since its a spicy chicken sandwich but thats just my preference, i would go back to try the rest of the donuts and sandwiches
September 04 · Omar FrancoThe donuts and chicken are delicious. The coconut cream donut was my favorite! Delicious! We had a chicken sandwich on a vanilla bean donut and it was pretty darn good.We also had a chicken sandwich on the brioche bun and that was great too.Customer service was okay. The hand sanitizer dispenser was broken or empty. The bathroom was disgusting and no toilet paper or soap. This is why I rated 4 stars instead of 5.
August 14 · Athena G MUnpretentious and so damned good. Was in town for work and wanted to grab a quick bite. A co worker mentioned she was headed there for a donut, so I joined her. I had the chicken egg and cheese sandwich, with avocado. And it hit the spot. I went back the next day, and the day after. The staff is efficient and nice. If you are looking for a quick spot for food, this is the spot!
