Doppio Pasticceria Introduce
Introduction / Overview: A Taste of Sicily in Baltimore
For Marylanders with a refined palate and a love for authentic, high-quality baking, Doppio Pasticceria offers a unique culinary retreat right in the heart of Baltimore's dynamic Remington neighborhood. More than just a traditional "bakery," Doppio Pasticceria—whose name translates to "double espresso" in Italian—is a Sicilian bakery, café, and pizzeria that celebrates the duality and rich, diverse influences of Sicilian cuisine.
The philosophy here is deeply rooted in heritage and local sourcing. The proprietors bring a dedication to milling their own fresh, whole-grain flour and utilizing seasonal produce and ingredients cultivated in the Chesapeake Region. This commitment ensures that everything from their signature New York-style, sourdough pizza to their delicate Italian pastries carries an unparalleled depth of flavor and freshness. Patrons can step in for a quick morning coffee and a maritozzo, linger for a delicious and substantial lunch featuring a Sicilian sandwich or a slice of acclaimed pizza, or indulge in a full evening meal with savory arancini and a whole pie.
Doppio Pasticceria has quickly become a local gem, known for its warm atmosphere, commitment to sustainable operations (including a no-single-use-plastic policy), and its partnership with local roasters like Sophomore Coffee. It provides Baltimore locals with an authentic taste of the Mediterranean island's diverse sweet and savory traditions, all crafted with a hyper-local Maryland focus. If you are looking for more than just a place to grab a bite—but a culinary experience steeped in tradition and quality ingredients—Doppio Pasticceria is a must-visit destination.

What is Worth Choosing
For anyone in the Maryland area seeking a genuinely distinctive and high-quality meal or treat, Doppio Pasticceria is an essential stop. It is worth choosing for several key reasons that elevate it beyond a typical Baltimore bakery or pizza parlor.
Firstly, the Sicilian Pasticceria items are the heart of the business and consistently receive the highest praise. The bomboloni (light, sugar-dusted donuts filled with pastry cream), the chewy, fragrant pignoli cookies, and the seasonal fruit tarts are absolute must-tries. When purchasing cream-filled pastries, local customers should take note of the genuine customer advice: enjoy these delicate items on the spot to ensure the cream does not moisten the perfect, light pastry.
Secondly, their Savory Offerings provide a truly satisfying experience. The New York-style pizza is widely praised for its thin, chewy crust and quality ingredients, making it one of the most delicious pies in Baltimore. For an authentic Sicilian savory bite, the Muffalata and the Mortadella & Apricot sandwich are consistently celebrated as "homeruns," featuring house-made bread and expertly balanced flavors—a triumph of simple ingredients. While reviews are mixed on the arancini, many find them to be a rich, savory, and belly-warming delight, a traditional Sicilian street food worth exploring.
Finally, choosing Doppio Pasticceria means supporting a local Baltimore business that champions sustainability and ethical practices. By prioritizing local Chesapeake ingredients, milling their own grains, avoiding single-use plastics, and ensuring a living wage for all employees, every purchase at Doppio is an investment in community values and environmental responsibility. It is a place where you can enjoy world-class Italian treats and pizza while feeling good about where your money is going. For a complete experience, pair any pastry with a high-quality espresso from local partner Sophomore Coffee.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Have had their pastries before at the other locations and finally came for the real food! The cheese pizza was pretty good, great cheese pull, and taste. But crust was pretty tough, not a fan. Meatless parm sandwich was pretty good! Burnt edges, but the burn fortunately did not overtake the good taste. Did not enjoy the $8 arancini. Got the meat one, though it had two granules of ground meat. Showed the staff and they said normally it's got 1.5 ounces of meat. Shocked me. 😲 Very weird customer experience on that.
June 07 · Chuk NThe speciality pie pizza was amazing, the slice was thin but the crust was very chewy I loved the taste of the ingredients. It was probably one of the most delicious pizzas I had. I will definitely come back to visit more than once, the salad was fresh and very light refreshing, the iced latte was good. I made the mistake not to eat the pastry/bakery item on the spot, the cream was good but it kinda made the pastry moist if you don't eat it right away, but overall, I had such a great lunch here. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside.
April 15 · Claire TsengUpdate April 2025: The best pizza in Baltimore City! Even on a busy Sunday afternoon, with a line out the door, a whole pie was ready in under 15 minutes. There’s lots of outdoor seating. Service is always friendly and helpful. All the food is consistently delicious.(Feb 2025: The new permanent location across from R. House is wonderful! The space is colorful and lively yet relaxing. Pizza slices and arancini were excellent. And it looks like there will be some outdoor seating when the weather warms up!)
April 15 · Kahley McBethFun menu with options for all tastes. Delicious bakery items for when you want a sweet treat. Drink options are plentiful. Friendly and helpful servers.
August 02 · Mindy GauthierGood local place to have italian pastries and food.It is cute place next to R house. Inside and outside are cute. Local and casual place for brunch. I went there with friends. We had pizza which was pretty good. We also had cannoli which was good but very crispy/hard outside. Coffee was good. Pistachio bun was really good too. Crispy on the outside but soft inside.I wanna try the salted hot chocolate and mushroom lasgna next time. Maybe other pastries as well. I wish they have more food
