★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A Perfect Morning Stop in Charming DuxburyWe found French Memories on a quiet, crisp morning while driving around Duxbury, reminiscing about my husband’s childhood. He grew up on Driftwood Road, and as we passed by his old home—a super cute Cape Cod-style house his father bought in the late ‘60s for just $35,000 (now worth a staggering $1.1 million!), I could almost picture the memories he described. We saw the ponds where he skated, the bridge he once jumped off, and even the golf course where he spent so much time. But the highlight of the morning? Stumbling upon French Memories. We had just dropped off our six-month-old puppy at Angell Memorial Hospital in Chestnut Hill for surgery, leaving us with several hours to pass before we’d know if we’d be picking him up that night or the next day. We needed a warm, inviting place to relax—and French Memories was exactly that.Walking in, I ordered a double espresso latte, and my husband got the same. We couldn’t resist the fresh cinnamon rolls from their beautiful pastry display, and I’m so glad we didn’t—they were absolutely divine. Soft, warm, and delicately sweet, they practically melted in our mouths. We grabbed seats at a cozy high-top table near the window and sipped our coffee while watching the morning routine of the locals—a mix of friendly faces, relaxed conversations, and a clear sense of community. This isn’t your typical coffee chain experience—if you’re looking for something beyond Dunkin’ Donuts, with a touch of European charm, this is the spot.Stepping outside after breakfast, we took in the picturesque surroundings. Just beyond the bakery, there’s a lovely view of the marina and the water, making it a perfect place to take a stroll. The combination of excellent coffee, delicious pastries, and a charming coastal setting made this an unforgettable morning stop.If you’re ever in Duxbury, French Memories is a must-visit. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this bakery offers a warm atmosphere, amazing food, and a glimpse into the town’s charm. We’ll definitely be back!We were driving around looking for
January 16 · Geena Becker, REALTORAfter visiting Island Creek Oysters, I grabbed a quick dessert at a nearby spot: French Memories. I was a bit hesitant since I'm not familiar with the area, but it did not disappoint. All the pastries we ordered were great! I would definitely recommend it to others!
June 03 · Putt (Wonderer)Cute bakery with so many treats to choose from. Definitely recommend stopping by here for a sandwich and a nice dessert. I will definitely be back. There is a credit card limit, but there is plenty to spend your money on. It is only a $7.50 limit.
July 27 · Janet StilesBummer- was soExcited to see the expanded menu yet the fact that 8 guests were in the bakery and only 1 employee was paying attention to people made me very disappointed with the inefficiency stillIn here. A different employee combining trays of pasties with her bare hands ( no gloves) and touching each pastry was gross to watch and made me change my order/ maybe use gloves for cleanliness- as she touched a bunch of cash. Myself and another Custer waited at least 6 minutes for a croissant to be warmed up. I will not be back anytime soon - such a bummer
May 10 · Megan SullivanGreat bakery with a large variety of fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, as well as lunch sandwiches/selections. The coffee was great and the pastries were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this place for anyone contemplating visiting! Very friendly staff!
