This review is only on the bread as it was a X’mas gift. At first I didn’t understand how on earth a loaf of bread can cost $18 and being packaged as a gift?Well, I followed the instruction on best way to enjoy it. I finished 1/2 loaf in December and froze the other 1/2.Now it’s January, I took out the other 1/2 and let it defrost on its own over the counter, then sliced a thick slice, gently toasted and enjoyed it daily. Now, I’m eating the last piece. 😢This is by far the BEST bread I have ever had!!! It’s unbelievable how well it freezes and it tastes as good as fresh! It is worth every dollar of it. I would get more except there is only one location and it very far. 🥲 I will put it on my wishlist to Santa.🧑‍🎄 - bobo fung

GINZA NISHIKAWA, located in Santa Ana, is not just a bakery; it is the Orange County destination for one of the most celebrated and highly sought-after bread products in the world: the authentic Japanese artisan Shokupan, or premium Japanese milk bread. Since opening its first store in Tokyo's Ginza district in 2018, this brand has garnered a global reputation for producing a loaf so soft, light, and uniquely flavored that it has been described by some as “the best bread I have ever had.”

For California residents, GINZA NISHIKAWA offers a chance to experience this luxurious staple without a trip to Japan. This dedication to a single, masterfully crafted product is what sets it apart from traditional American and European bakeries. The bread is distinguished by its use of select ingredients—including fresh cream, butter, honey, and alkaline ionized water—blended with the finest Japanese-milled flour. The result is a premium white loaf that is subtly sweet, wonderfully moist, and possesses a delicate, airy texture that is simply unparalleled.

While some may initially question the price of a specialty loaf, customer testimonials quickly confirm that the quality justifies the cost. The bread’s unique properties, including its exceptional ability to maintain its freshness and quality even after freezing, turn it into a multi-day indulgence. It is not merely a carb; it is an experience, making it an excellent centerpiece for a special breakfast, a thoughtful gift, or a party pleaser that sparks conversation.
