What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Half Moon Empanadas at MIA is a decision based on flavor, convenience, and a desire for something beyond the typical fast-food standard. For anyone in the Florida region or passing through the Miami hub, this location is worth seeking out for several compelling reasons, all rooted in the unique offerings and services provided.
The primary draw is the authentic Argentinian experience delivered in a fast-casual format. The empanadas are the stars; customers appreciate the traditional preparation, noting the flaky crust and the quality of the savory fillings. Specifically, the Beef empanada has been highlighted for its satisfying, well-seasoned flavor profile, offering a delicious and portable meal. The generous menu ensures there is an option for every preference, whether you crave the richness of Pulled Pork or the vegetarian delight of Creamed Spinach. The ability to grab an authentic taste of international cuisine, ready for takeout, is a significant advantage over other dining options at the airport.
Furthermore, the extensive and specialty coffee menu is a powerful incentive, particularly for those in search of a quality morning or afternoon pick-me-up. The offering of items like the Cortadito and Colada demonstrates a commitment to South Florida’s strong Latin coffee culture, providing a much richer experience than a standard cup of brewed coffee. The availability of Hot Chocolate and various Lattes (including flavored and iced options) ensures that all beverage preferences are met.
Finally, the operational efficiency and accessibility make it a smart choice. As a dedicated ‘quick visit’ spot with full takeout service, it is perfect for passengers with tight connection times. The acceptance of multiple modern payment methods—Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments—further enhances the speed of service. While customer feedback indicates that product freshness can occasionally be a concern in this high-volume environment (as with any fast-food setting), the fundamental quality of the product—the seasoned beef, the flaky crust, and the unique sweet options like Dulce de Leche or Guava & Cream Cheese—makes it a worthwhile stop. Choosing a value-oriented Empanadas Combo provides a complete, delicious, and culturally unique meal solution, offering a genuine taste of Argentinian bakery traditions right here in Miami, Florida.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The half moon empanadas were warm & delicious. I specifically liked the beef & spicy beef. Surprisingly the regular beef had more flavor. The crust was flaky and the beef was seasoned well. I felt like it was missing sauce. Overall really good.
September 10 · AJ JonesI can't believe they would sell such a bad empanada. The Dulce de Leche empanada has probably been sitting there for a few days, dried out, taste is terrible. I'm not going to complain about the airport price, but for your own sake, sell a good product.
September 04 · Marcelo WeissGreat freshly made empanadas! Crust and fill were perfect plus they had different fills to select from. Service by the staff was great and even went back for a dozen to take back home.
August 03 · Natalia R. Mercedes OlivoGreat atmosphere and, a beautiful presentation but their empanadas failed to deliver on deliciousness or flakiness! The guava pastry was more like a brown sweet liquid paste and the beef gave a more manufactured taste rather than homemade. The inside of the restaurant appears to be well-kept and extremely clean.
June 30 · Etiquette QueenThis place should get no stars… what a huge waste of money and a disappointment. We stopped here cuz the empanadas looked good and we were starving… WOW they were gross dry and tasted like rubber. The guava and cheese looked and smell like baby food with bananas. What a huge insult to the Latin community. Okay I am done save your money don’t eat at this place.
