★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This mom-and-pop Greek bakery has been a local gem since 1969. They serve up some truly amazing and authentic Greek pastries. The spinach pie and baklava were both outstanding and surprisingly affordable. The interior is simple and unpretentious but the love and soul poured into their craft shine through in every bite. Places with this kind of uniquely nostalgic charm are quite rare to come by these days.
September 18 · Christina HuynhI drove up to Hellas on a recommendation for the “best baklava in the city” and… they were right! Service was casual and helpful too. I got the standard baklava, rolled baklava, melomakarona (honey cookie), and a chocolate eclair. All of them were phenomenal! Please check this place out and savor their craft.
August 21 · Hayden BidingerWhy did I wait so long to try this Lawrence Avenue place out???Phenomenal. Top tier. Made by skilled people from Southern Greece.Ate the chocolate baklava roll right there which was fairly priced for the high quality and substantial quantity I got. They have cute little counter seats by the window. And then after being offered a sampling of a delicious sweet bread I was absolutely hooked and got a dozen powdered almond cookies for the gathering I was going to. The best cookies of this type that I've ever had. The kind owners even threw in a gluten free almond paste cookie with a raspberry middle for my GF friend (they do have some gluten free and vegan selections). Had a nice conversation with the chill owners and left with my treasures snuggled in a pretty box. The treats were devoured by all at the gathering. Everybody loved it and I mean loved it.This bakeshop has been in business for 35 years. They deserve our support. I will most definitely be back for more. I especially want to try a spinach and cheese pie next.
