Hostess Brands Inc Introduce
Introduction / Overview: Hostess Brands in the Heart of the Pee Dee
When South Carolina residents think of a 'bakery,' they often picture a small, local shop with freshly baked bread and custom cakes. However, the term 'Bakery' also accurately describes major commercial food production facilities that supply the iconic, pre-packaged sweet treats found in grocery and convenience stores across the state. Hostess Brands Inc., a nationally recognized name in snack cakes, maintains a presence in Florence, SC, with a facility that operates within this larger manufacturing and distribution capacity.
Located on South Main Street, this site is identified as a commercial bakery operation, playing a vital role in the company’s extensive network. While not a retail storefront for local walk-in purchases of fresh-baked goods, this location is critical for the production, storage, or distribution logistics that ensure products like Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Donettes reach South Carolinians daily. This large-scale operation contributes significantly to the Florence area by engaging in the food manufacturing sector and is part of the broader industrial landscape of the Pee Dee region.
It is important for local users to understand that this facility’s function is centered on high-volume, regulated food production, which differs greatly from a community retail bakery. All products created and distributed from this type of facility are intended for sale through established, third-party retail partners across South Carolina.
Location and Accessibility for Business Operations
The Hostess Brands facility is strategically located in Florence, South Carolina, a prime location for industrial and logistical operations serving the southeastern United States.
The physical address is 2243 S Main St, Florence, SC 29501, USA. This placement along a major thoroughfare is advantageous for transportation logistics, enabling efficient inbound supply and outbound distribution of products to wholesalers and retailers across the region.
As a commercial or industrial facility, the location is designed to accommodate business and logistical needs, including:
- A Wheelchair accessible entrance, ensuring the facility is compliant for employees, business partners, and official visitors.
- A Wheelchair accessible parking lot, providing necessary accommodations for access to the premises.
Local residents should note that while the facility is accessible for business-related entry, it does not serve as a retail outlet for direct public purchases. Its primary function is production and logistics, not consumer sales.
