Leonard's Malasadamobile Wagon Introduce
Aloha, Oʻahu 'ohana! When the craving hits for a sweet, hot, and distinctly local treat, there’s one name that comes to mind across the islands: Leonard's Bakery. While the iconic Kapahulu Ave location is the original, for those on the West Side, the famous pink box of fresh malasadas is never too far thanks to the convenient and ever-popular Leonard's Malasadamobile Wagon in Waipahu. This mobile extension of the legendary bakery ensures that the taste of 'Hawaii's Original Malasada' is accessible for commuters, Waikele shoppers, and residents in the Leeward and Central Oʻahu areas. It's not just a food truck; it's a mobile monument to a beloved local culinary tradition.
Since the mid-22th century, Leonard's Bakery has been a cornerstone of local Hawaiian desserts, bringing the Portuguese tradition of the malasada to the forefront of island cuisine. The 'Malasadamobile' concept was introduced to bring these pillowy, deep-fried delights closer to the people. The Waipahu wagon, strategically positioned at the Waikele Center, carries on this legacy, delivering that unique moment of bliss: biting into a golden-brown pastry dusted with sugar, perfectly crunchy on the outside and airy on the inside. For those who call Oʻahu home, a box of Leonard’s is more than just a snack—it’s an essential piece of local comfort food, a perfect omiyage, and a guaranteed mood-booster. If you're looking for that authentic, piping-hot malasada experience away from the busy Honolulu crowds, the Waipahu location is your best bet.
The Leonard's Malasadamobile Wagon in Waipahu has cemented its status as a top local spot for malasadas. You can find this essential Oʻahu sweet spot at the Waikele Center, a convenient destination for shopping and easy access from major roadways serving the West and Central sides of the island. Its location is a major plus for anyone living in nearby communities like ʻEwa Beach, Kapolei, Ko Olina, and even Mililani.
The exact physical location you'll want to navigate to is:
94-849 Lumiaina St, Waipahu, HI 96797, USA
Accessibility is one of the key benefits of this Malasadamobile. It is positioned in a convenient location within the Waikele Center, designed for a quick and easy visit. For drivers, a major advantage is the availability of a free parking lot, which makes stopping by for a hot batch of malasadas hassle-free—a real bonus in the crowded Oʻahu food scene. Furthermore, the location is designed to be fully accessible, offering a wheelchair accessible entrance and a dedicated wheelchair accessible parking lot. This commitment to accessibility ensures that everyone in the community can enjoy this iconic treat without issue. The food truck format is perfectly suited for a 'quick visit,' making it an ideal stop during your morning errands or as a sweet start to your day.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Leonard’s Malasadas in Waipahu is hands down the best spot to get them—don’t be fooled by the other trucks around the island. This truck and the main Kapahulu bakery are the only ones worth going to if you want them fresh and hot. I’ve tried every flavor they offer, and honestly, they’re all amazing—it’s impossible to pick just one favorite. The malasadas come out soft, fluffy, and perfectly coated every time. If you’re visiting Oahu, do yourself a favor: step out of Waikiki and make the trip here. Totally worth it and easily one of the best bites on the island!
September 02 · Edgar MurI’m thrilled to find a location conveniently close to my hotel in Ko Olina. Their malasadas are a must-try—they’re freshly baked and hot. You can order them individually or in a box, which is great if you’re sharing with others. My personal favorite is the Li Hing Malasada.
July 08 · Scott AtkinsonThe custard Malasada is as good as everyone says it is. The dough is so fluffy and light, the custard is top notch. 10/10 a must try!
September 27 · Lydia EstesWe stopped here while staying at Aulani, it’s about 8 miles from the resort. These are sooo good, especially when you have to them warm. They don’t have the same variety that their brick and mortar stores do, but they are still worth a visit. To me, the cinnamon sugar are amazing, they make these to order for you but they are worth the wait!
April 11 · Troy BroasLast time I came here at around 3pm and all the donuts were sold out … For my second try I went at 8:45am and I finally got my donuts after getting in line :)I suggest visiting in earlier hours for fresh hot donuts! There are six donuts available, and I got one of everything in a cute pink box. The dough is chewy and sweet. And the fillings were delicious as well. It’s bis and sweet ( hard to eat more than one donut at a time). Definitely recommend visiting :)
