Long’s Family Pastry Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For California locals seeking an authentic and expansive selection of traditional Chinese baked goods and Dim Sum, Long’s Family Pastry stands as a cornerstone establishment in Los Angeles. Located in the historic and vibrant heart of Chinatown, this dual-purpose venue, which functions both as a specialized Bakery and a Candy Store, is celebrated for its commitment to high-quality, freshly prepared food and remarkably affordable pricing. This is a place where culinary tradition meets community value, making it a beloved destination for a diverse array of patrons from across Southern California.
The reputation of Long’s Family Pastry is built on two key pillars: variety and freshness. The menu is an impressive catalog of items, covering everything from morning staples to elaborate seasonal treats. Patrons consistently highlight the exceptional value, noting that the food is "very cheap" while the quality remains A+++. This combination of price and quality ensures that "the lines are along very long," a testament to its popularity, but one that locals consider well worth the wait. Customers often remark on the necessity of an early visit to secure the full range of fresh offerings, a common hallmark of highly successful neighborhood bakeries. The offerings span both sweet and savory items, including a vast selection of **Baked** buns (such as the popular Baked Pineapple Bun and Baked Hot Dog Bun), a full array of **Steam Dim Sum**, and an extensive list of traditional **Desserts**. Reviews frequently praise the **sponge cake** as "very amazing" and specifically recommend staples like the **chicken bun** (noted for its generous filling), **Lo Mai Gai** (sweet rice pork), and a variety of dumplings. Long’s Family Pastry is the quintessential local spot for a delicious, authentic, and economical **Breakfast** or a satisfying treat any time of day.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The lines are along very long. The food is very cheap. Can go along with the steam buns or bow buns. Sponge cake is very amazing. The mango sticky rice is superb. It’s best to get there early, but always fresh.

January 28 · Cristeta 559This is my favorite new spot. The people are nicer here. I used to go to Won Kok Like two blocks away. I stopped going there because they were so freaking rude and their food quality went down. Longs family pastry Is the best spot to go for dim sum and bakery goods. I recommend the custard bun, the coconut bun, pork shumai, Shrimp dumpling, and my new favorite leek cake💗
May 21 · Liani FloresPlace I never skip whenever I go to Chinatown in DTLA. It's my go-to for the best pork siomai and baked snow roll. My favorites include the rice cake, custard egg tart, and veggie egg rolls. Service is fast. I was surprised that there wasn't a long line today. There is usually a line here.
December 28 · Nellie BeeThis is the first time I’ve visited this particular dim sum spot, it’s a cute store front with tons of options especially, moon cakes. The only down side during this visit was that the sit-down area was closed, to-go orders only and I wasn’t in the mood to eat in the car but I also didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to try a new spot. I ordered 3 items; shumai, leek cake and sweet bun! The ingredients seem to be better than that of its competition Won kok, the prices are also reasonable. Can’t wait to come back when I am able to sit and enjoy my meal….
