It operates as an authentic "Panadería Colombiana," a dual-concept establishment where the aromas of freshly baked pastries mingle with the rich, comforting scents of traditional Colombian cuisine. This location serves as a critical cultural and culinary hub for the local South Florida area, especially for those seeking genuine, homestyle Colombian food and baked staples.
The menu is distinctly focused on delivering authentic Colombian flavors, evident in signature offerings like the hearty Sopa de Mondongo and the expansive Bandeja Paisa ($9.50), showcasing that Los Balkanes is a full-service eatery offering breakfast and lunch options alongside its baked treats. This integration of a full kitchen with a bakery makes it a highly convenient spot for a quick morning coffee with a buñuelo or a satisfying, traditional meal at any point during the day.
Patrons of Los Balkanes enjoy various service options, including In-store shopping for a quick grab-and-go experience and Takeout. The business is geared toward a Quick visit, perfectly suiting the fast-paced Florida lifestyle while still providing essential amenities like a Restroom and accepting modern forms of payment, including Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I went there cause I'd heard the food was good, but honestly if the customer service was horrible doesn't matter how good the food was I won't go there ever again. All 3 latin servers were horrible, they were mean and had lack of customer service skills. The colombian lady was the WORSE! Muy grosera y una falta de respeto!!!
September 07 · Johanna CuervoThe empanadas and the chorizo and the buñuelos were good. I didn’t like the rice. The worst part is that they don’t even have chairs to sit! The service was good and the waitress/cashier was very nice!
July 17 · Daniel CurbeloWe visited this bakery for the first time and had a really disappointing experience. The woman at the counter was unfriendly and seemed bothered by our presence. When we asked about huevos perico (a common egg dish), she looked at us like we were speaking another language. We ended up ordering arepas stuffed with eggs, which was close enough. We also asked for a coffee and were given café con leche without any clarification or options. The attitude we received from this employee was enough to make us decide we won’t be returning. No smiles, no basic courtesy. Management really needs to rethink who they have at the front. Not a welcoming place at all.
May 13 · Ruddy UgarteDelicious food and great service! Loved the breakfast. I had an arepa with an egg inside. Their empanadas and coffee are also amazing!
July 06 · Guy MonticelloI have been coming to this place for years, love their food. Mondongo soup is delicious, empanadas, arepas, everything is so good. The prices are very reasonable, staff is friendly.
