Martha's Eats & Treats Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Martha's Eats & Treats, nestled in the heart of Dundas, Minnesota, at 236 Railway St N, is far more than just a bakery—it's an iconic local institution known for its high-quality, scratch-made goods and uniquely cozy atmosphere. For Minnesota residents in the Northfield area and beyond, this spot is a celebrated destination that “screams ‘bakery’” with its eclectic decor, ranging from local artwork to an assortment of bird statues, creating an intimate and charming interior. The menu, ever-rotating and often written on a prominent chalk board, reflects a commitment to seasonality and creativity, ensuring a fresh experience with every visit.
The foundation of the business is a dedication to baking with real, high-quality ingredients, particularly butter and sugar, which is a hallmark of truly exceptional, traditional pastry. This dedication has earned them a passionate following, with customers raving about signature savory items like the quiche, which one reviewer called the "best one I've had all my life so far," and the famously delicious ham and cheese croissant. The bakery offers a wide array of both sweet and savory items, covering everything from breakfast and light lunch options to specialty desserts and a full beverage selection. It’s important to note, however, that to maintain their famously low prices and unique business model, Martha's Eats & Treats strictly accepts cash or check payments only—a small, worthwhile preparation for experiencing one of the greatest little pastry shops in the state.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1BEFORE READING: BRING CASH OR CHECK. THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS - that’s why their prices are low. This is one of the greatest little pastry shops ever. Super cozy atmosphere and they make one of the meanest ham and cheese croissants I’ve ever eaten in my life. The most that you will end up paying is $10 before you are full. They also have very good quiches and cranberry scones. Soups, salads, and desserts are also available.
July 05 · Kyle McDowellThis was my second bakery I've eaten at in Northfield and it was truly iconic. From the artwork along the walls, to the assortment of bird statues, to the ever-rotating menu written in chalk, this place screams "bakery." I'll admit I was starving when I ate my quiche but it was the best one I've had all my life so far.
February 03 · Snakeman4 gamesThis is a wonderful bakery open on weekends. I especially love their Danish pastries and croissants. Besides this bakery they also sell baked goods in Northfield at the downtown market on some Saturday mornings. I've been told by some that the pastries remind them of pastries that they have had in France, rich and buttery. They also have savory items including sandwiches and soups. I like their coffee. The service is very friendly and helpful. The last time that I went there it was close to closing time, but they were fine with that and they told me to take my time.
July 29 · Daniel T.Service was amazing and the food is fresh, reasonably priced, and delicious. Definitely worth a trip down here from the Twin Cities. I came all the way from Las Vegas to visit this place, so no excuses 😉!!
December 21 · Robert CarusoThe most delicious breakfast you’ll find anywhere! Super quaint atmosphere, and the kindest owners. We get something every week! And we love seeing the new, unique items pop up occasionally!
