Mighty-O Donuts: 2nd & Madison Introduce
Welcome to the heart of Seattle, Washington! When your day calls for a sweet, satisfying treat and a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, look no further than Mighty-O Donuts: 2nd & Madison. This local favorite stands out in the bustling downtown core, not just for its delicious offerings, but for its genuine commitment to quality, organic, and plant-based ingredients. For those of us in the Puget Sound area searching for a morning boost, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a delightful dessert that aligns with mindful eating, Mighty-O is a destination worth exploring.
Mighty-O Donuts has carved a special niche in the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant food scene since its founding in 2000. While many people think of a donut shop as a traditional quick-stop for sugar and fried dough, Mighty-O offers a fresh, modern, and conscientious twist. All of their donuts, glazes, and toppings are made from scratch daily, using only organic, non-GMO, and 100% plant-based (vegan) ingredients. This dedication means no animal products, no chemical additives, no preservatives, and no hydrogenated oils in their signature 'O's. This particular location serves as a welcoming beacon for the Downtown Seattle community, providing a casual and family-friendly spot that caters to a quick visit or a leisurely moment with Wi-Fi access.
The shop proudly defines itself as more than just a Donut shop; it's a true hybrid—a Cafe, a Coffee shop, a Dessert shop, an Organic food store, and a Vegetarian cafe and deli all rolled into one. This versatility makes it an ideal spot for a wide range of needs, whether you're a local office worker grabbing a dozen for the team, a visitor seeking a taste of Seattle's unique culinary landscape, or a resident committed to an organic or plant-based diet. Their commitment to these standards is what truly sets them apart in a city with no shortage of great baked goods and coffee.
For local users, the convenience of a high-quality, responsibly-sourced treat in a busy downtown setting is invaluable. Mighty-O’s focus on organic ingredients and scratch-made recipes ensures that every bite is not only indulgent but also crafted with intention. The shop’s friendly service and inviting atmosphere make it a staple for solo dining and quick, enjoyable breaks from the daily grind.
Beyond their core products, the company has a strong local footprint, committed to community engagement and sustainability. They donate excess unsold donuts to area hospitals and food pantries, partnering with local non-profits, demonstrating a business model that prioritizes both people and the planet. This awareness of social and environmental responsibility is another compelling reason why Washington residents are proud to support Mighty-O Donuts.
The menu is extensive, offering a compelling array of both classic and innovative flavors. Customers rave about favorites such as the Lemon Poppyseed, a vanilla cake donut featuring a delightful sour-sweet lemon flavor, and the French Toast, a spiced cake with a maple glaze, which has even won accolades on national TV. For chocolate lovers, options like the Grasshopper (peppermint and chocolate icing) and the Chocolate Peanut Butter are irresistible. The selection ensures there's a perfect pairing for everyone's coffee order, whether it's a simple Drip Coffee, a creamy Latte, a robust Cold Brew, or a warming Matcha.
The atmosphere is described as casual and is popular for solo dining, making it a comfortable place to start your day or take a midday pause. With great coffee and fast service, it perfectly suits the pace of Downtown Seattle life. They also make an effort to be accessible to all members of the community, which is a thoughtful touch for a busy urban location.
The broad appeal, from those simply wanting a sweet indulgence to those specifically seeking organic and vegan options, solidifies Mighty-O Donuts: 2nd & Madison as a true Washington gem. It's a place where quality ingredients, responsible practices, and delicious taste intersect seamlessly.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I work across the street so it was only a matter of time before I wandered over. I came for coffee but the donuts looked amazing. I adore the lemon poppy variety. I had no idea they were vegan / plant based until someone pointed it out to me. They taste amazing! Coffee is wonderful as well. Service is always pleasant and I'm just really happy to have this business close by while Im in the office.
May 07 · DominickThey had signs for a key lime yeast donut outside but unfortunately did not have it in store.I got the lemon poppy and French toast. The French toast donut was awful - it was like biting into a mouthful of sugar. The lemon poppy one was not bad. It was still very sweet, but it was tolerable. It had a nice sour and sweet lemon flavor.I generally like yeast donuts over cake, as they're generally springier and chewier, but all their good flavors are cake donuts. Their cake donuts still have the same thick, brittle, non-springy texture that other cake donuts. The price was very fair - about $3-4 for a donut.Service was very friendly. If you like very sweet cake donuts, then you'll love it here. It just wasn't my thing.
June 04 · Richard LI was so happy to experience an all vegan donut shop especially in downtown Seattle during my short trip to the city! The barista was so helpful in picking which donut I should get and navigating other local sights to see! I’m so thankful to be able to enjoy so many fun donut flavors as a vegan!
April 15 · Courtney GarzaCute little coffee and donut shop, with tea and other beverages. Convenient location and friendly staff. Some seating as well.
May 19 · Rachel Sifuentes$20.96 for 4 donuts. WOW. They are decent but don't compare to Family Donut where they are delicious and reasonably priced ($25 for a dozen). Never again simply off principle. Robbery.
