★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love Nine Winters. The menu is an innovative and playful line up of drinks, pastries, and food and all of it is executed impeccably. The owner, Marissa, is kind and community-centered, and her story & values show up in every aspect of the shop. Longer food review is below, but tldr: every item on the menu is worth trying here. The Jeju Island and Galbi drinks are so yummy and contain flavor notes I haven’t had at any other coffee shop in the Boston area. The pastries are incredible, I especially loved the Curry Lace Oat cookie — an unexpected pairing of flavors and textures that go so well together. I’m looking forward to coming by on a weekend to try their donuts (rotating flavors weekly). As for their food, I can probably eat their house salad every day, and don’t even get me started on their deviled eggs. Don’t be scared off my the Gochujang bolognese, it’s not spicy but retains the umami-ness of the Korean chili paste.
July 14 · Ki Wan SimStopped in on the 3rd day that this place opened - the owner was manning the front counter and we had a lovely chat with her. Opted for an iced coffee, and iced chai, the Korean garlic bread and black sesame cookie. Everything was fresh and tasty. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood!
July 09 · Diane Ah-KineMy wife and I were excited to try this place but ultimately came away disappointed. There is limited seating, and the service at the front was quite slow during our visit (it took ~10 minutes to get through the two groups ahead of us in line). Once we ordered, however, we received our food quickly: gochujang bolognese, Korean deviled eggs, and a black sesame chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was fine - it was soft and sweet but not particularly chocolatey. The two savory dishes were tasty but overpriced. The bolognese portion size was comically small: it contained maybe 8 bites total. For a "meal" that cost nearly $30, we were expecting a lot more.
July 19 · Chris GerryI’m so happy this place is open. I’ve known the owner for a bit, so I’m happy Nine Winters finally opened. I stopped by for a quick brekkie. I was hoping they would have the garlic bread but alas it was not in the cards. I got a ginger cookie and an injeolmi donut instead. The cookie was bursting with spicy, gingery tang. I loved the flavor, and the cookie itself was chewy but not soft. The donut was a unique texture. Almost mochi like with light springiness. There wasn’t too much injeolmi taste, though. It was almost like a glazed donut. And it was hot to the top so super fresh.I’d love to stop by again to try the garlic bread or a drink!
July 20 · Wren Leeso excited that there's a Korean-American bakery in the area- forgot to take a photo BEFORE we dug in.the garlic bread was 10/10 could eat one million of those. the oatmeal curry, peanut butter chili crisp, and vanilla ssuk cookies were also delicious!
