## What Is Worth Choosing at Panadería y Carnicería La Estrella
Choosing La Estrella means choosing variety and authenticity, all under one roof. The dual nature of the establishment allows customers to easily transition from picking up a dozen fresh Sweet Bread items to getting a custom cut of meat for dinner, a massive convenience for busy Arizona residents.
### From the Panadería (Bakery)
The baked goods are the major draw. The Sweet Bread selection is vast, often available in value-priced batches like the 12 Mix Sweet Bread ($13.50). Customers rave about the pastries, particularly the cream filled croissants, which are highlighted as "amazing especially when dipped in coffee." Other must-try items include the Conchas (the iconic seashell-shaped sweet bread), the cinnamon-flavored Puerquitos, and traditional Empanadas filled with fruit. For a small treat, the Cookies are popular, with options such as Guava Thumbprint Cookies ($5.00/Dozen) and Pineapple Thumbprint Cookies ($5.00/Dozen). While some specialty items like the Tres Leches Cake have received mixed reviews regarding dryness, the variety and fresh quality of the daily baked goods—including 12 Mix Donuts ($12.00) and decadent desserts like the Choco-Flan Slice ($3.50)—make it essential to try their rotating selection.
### From the Carnicería and Grocery
The Carnicería side complements the bakery by offering fresh, high-quality meats, which are crucial for authentic Mexican cooking at home. While specific meat cuts aren't listed, a traditional carnicería of this type provides staples like carne asada (marinated for grilling), quality cuts for stewing, and often fresh poultry and pork. This section also serves the need for heartier fare, including a Salted Bread selection like 12 Bread Rolls ($5.00) and the savory Filled Bread Roll ($2.00) with cheese, ham, and jalapeños.
Furthermore, the Mexican grocery store component allows customers to quickly pick up specialty pantry items, produce, and even quick snacks. The selection includes basic conveniences, listed as Junk Food (likely referring to popular comfort snacks), such as Shrimp Ramen Maruchan ($1.00) and Tapatio Doritos ($1.50), ensuring you can complete your meal planning with a single, authentic stop. This wide array of products, coupled with hot food favorites like tamales and bean burritos, cements Panadería y Carnicería La Estrella as a cherished and comprehensive destination for Mesa’s culinary needs.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Go for the sweet bread or pastries because those are delicious! The tres leches cake, not so much. Very dry and bland. See photo. But the cream filled croissants are amazing especially when dipped in coffee! 🩷
June 12 · DanicaDefinitely worth the wait. They have a variety of choices for you. Freshly made. It's like you can tell they make it all with love. Lol. The parking, well there practically is none . So I would highly suggest parking at the future of a restaurant place next door parking lot. Way easier. There may be a line when walking up on the store but, you will find it moves pretty quickly. The ladies helping put are super sweet. As much as the line moves you would think that you would be rushed but, that wasn't the case at all. The cash register ladies were quick and friendly as well. This place is a must go to.
January 06 · Soly PortilloHaven’t been here in a long time and was excited to be able to stop by, but unfortunately the flan I was excited to eat had mold in it and was too far to turn back. Sadly would not be coming back here
May 30 · Edgar TolentinoThe first time here is a small parking area. However, on the east side of the bldg. there is other parking. It's a little warm inside, but all the goodies make up for it. We got sweet donuts they were really good. All kinds of items from Mexico, there was a guy cooking meat outside and it smelled so good, next time I'll try it. I recommend this establishment.
May 13 · L CWas the only gringo there but loved it. Hope this stays a little hidden. $3 tacos that are absolutely amazing, $2 cupcake. Very amazing. Will be back soon. Only strange thing to me is ordering. Expected like restraint style but it's more deli style, doesn't bring down my experience though.
