Specialties like the 'Double Trouble' sandwich and 'Smoked Salmon Lox' keep patrons returning, cementing Puddletown Bagels' role as a significant player in Portland's casual dining landscape. Their menu extends far beyond bagels, featuring a range of specialty coffee drinks, sodas, and treats, making it a comprehensive morning or midday stop.

What is worth choosing
Choosing Puddletown Bagels at The Yard at Montavilla is choosing a local Portland experience rooted in community and culinary dedication. The primary draw is undeniably the bagels, described by some patrons as having the desirable chewy interior and firm, boiled exterior that is often reminiscent of traditional East Coast styles. For those looking for a hearty start to their day, the breakfast bagel sandwiches are a consistent hit, though prices have adjusted to the current market. Specifically, the 'Double Trouble' offers a substantial meal for a big appetite, featuring two fried eggs and double the meat portions.
Beyond the traditional fare, the consideration for all diets is a key benefit. The inclusion of a dedicated Vegan Cream Cheese option and the ability to customize most bagel sandwiches into a vegetarian or vegan offering (such as the 'Veggie Bagel' with Hummus or Vegan Cream Cheese) ensures that all Oregon residents can find something delicious. Moreover, for those who value supporting local, inclusive businesses, knowing that Puddletown Bagels is an LGBTQ+ owned spot adds an extra layer of positive impact to their purchase. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It’s different now. The customer service has always been hit or miss here, hence the 3 stars. The guy that helped me this morning was really nice though. I feel like inflation is hitting this place like many others because I don’t remember a breakfast sandwich costing $8. They used to be overflowing with cream cheese, and the bacon was thicker than a snicker. My bacon sandwich was still delicious and I could tell it was made with care even though the quality feels different.
March 05 · Clint TessinBeen coming to puddletown for a couple of years as we’re in the neighborhood and it’s convenient…I think we’ve finally reached the point where it makes sense to get a bagel elsewhere. The frequency of getting the wrong order is wildly high. It’s something we’ve always kind of grumbled about but rolled with. Getting two $8 breakfast sandwiches that are bone dry, however, is an absolute affront to bagel eaters and is surely the final straw for us. Maybe the non-cart locations are different, but we’re done trying to make this work. My NJ family would faint if they saw us eating these…come on. You can do better!
January 26 · Brad BurnsWe love the bagels and the ability to buy them just a few blocks away, but occasionally we feel like second class citizens compared to the attention given to online orders and delivery drivers. This morning all we needed were 6 bagels dropped in a bag. The server said they “weren’t taking orders“ because they were too busy and the explanation that followed probably took as long as processing the order would have. He wouldn’t even take payment for a bag of day-olds. We understand it’s easy for a small cart to get swamped with online orders (and maybe there was something going on we didn’t understand) but it seems wise to prioritize neighborhood regulars. Keep them delicious bagels coming!
May 01 · D. GildePuddletown Bagels has a great selection of healthy sandwiches also Italian sodas, ice coffee. I like to ordered the bacon and eggs and sausage and PJ cheese, on a everything bagel. Great service and friendly environment. Early in the morning works out the best of the movie for up then. If you go in the afternoon expect a crowd. Because all the carts are open.
May 24 · isarel ochoaGreat bagels places are difficult to find in our far flung corner of NE, but thankfully a quick trip to The Yard at Montavilla (a high-density food cart pod on 82nd just south of Glisan) solves the problem, as there is a Puddletown nestled just within its claustrophobic confines.Puddletown is one of the best bagel places around, and not only for quality of food, but also their extremely reasonable prices. They make a mean smoked lox bagel sandwich (my wife's favorite), while I am prone to walk away with either a B.E.L.T. or the bagel burger, which appears to be a relatively new offering. And If you're not into the specialty sandwiches, they have a significant selection of different bagel types and spreads that rivals any brick-and-mortar shop, so you're guaranteed to find something you like. And as an added bonus, you can snag a bag of day old (but still eminently fresh) bagels of all different varieties, for only $5, if you're early enough! All this, plus friendly service, makes Puddletown one of the tastiest, most affordable, and convenient bagel shops around! Now, if I could just get them to move their cart a little closer to home...
