Rubinstein Bagels Introduce
Introduction / Overview: Seattle's Artisan Bagels Arrive in Redmond
Rubinstein Bagels has rapidly become a fixture in the Washington food scene, offering a distinctive style of hand-crafted bagels that has earned a devoted following. Located in the heart of Redmond, this popular establishment is more than just a typical Bagel shop—it serves as a combined Breakfast restaurant and Coffee shop, providing a perfect start to the day for Eastside locals. Originating in Seattle and now expanding its reach, Rubinstein Bagels brings its commitment to quality ingredients and artisanal techniques to the Redmond community.
The core of the Rubinstein difference lies in their detailed process. They use organic, high-protein bread flour sourced from Eastern Washington farms and incorporate a tangy sourdough culture in their dough. This long-fermenting and hand-rolling process results in a complex, chewy, and moist bagel—a unique texture that sets it apart from other styles. While many compare them to New York-style bagels, customers note they are "good in their own right," offering a moist and chewy consistency.
This location is perfectly positioned for the bustling Downtown Redmond community, welcoming everyone from morning commuters to families enjoying the adjacent park. The shop is also dedicated to being an inclusive space, proudly identifying as LGBTQ+ friendly. Whether you are looking for a classic bagel with a schmear or one of their acclaimed breakfast sandwiches, Rubinstein Bagels delivers a premium, locally-focused experience.
Location and Accessibility: Downtown Redmond Convenience

The large, inviting space offers plenty of room to sit down and enjoy your meal, a considerable bonus compared to other local options. Their commitment to using organic, regional flour and a sourdough culture produces a unique, satisfying texture—chewy and moist on the inside, with a perfect crust. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The location is great, just a quick walk from the new light rail station and right next to the Downtown Redmond park. It’s pricey, but my husband and I compared the prices to the same sandwich order at the other bagel place…. Only $3 difference total :) plus, Rubenstein’s actually has plenty of room to sit down and eat, which is a bonus. The staff was extremely friendly, and the whole place felt clean. The bagels were gooood (and I’ve been to New York a few times recently, so I feel confident comparing). I would not call them New York style though, but it is good in their own right. The ingredients felt super fresh and so did my bagel - definitely more on the moist and chewy side, but not hard at all. We will be back!!
May 27 · Sabrina DominguezI liked this place and I’ll be back. Friendly staff, good service, my bagel sandwich was tasty enough. The atmosphere was off putting - very big, quiet, and echoing. My friends and I felt weird sitting down and talking at a normal volume. We realized we were running late and the person at the counter was really nice about switching our orders to takeout after we had ordered.
September 23 · Layne HarrisBagels are amazing. I also love their bagel version of avocado toast. I have had their coffee twice and both times it tasted watery and for $6, I expected more.
May 31 · DM DavisRubinstein bagels in Redmond? Oh, honey, you're walking into a carb-fueled wonderland.Prepare to be overwhelmed, in the best possible way. I swear, they have more bagel varieties than I have excuses for skipping the gym. Everything from your classic everything to...well, let's just say some combinations that would make a purist clutch their pearls. But hey, variety is the spice of life, or in this case, the sesame seed on your cinnamon raisin. The vibe? It's like a sunshine-filled hug. Bright, airy, and buzzing with the happy chatter of people about to devour a mountain of dough. It's the kind of place where you can happily judge someone's bagel choice without them noticing, because you're too busy debating between a salt bagel and a poppy seed. A serious life decision, people. And the bagels themselves? Forget those sad, dense rings you get at the grocery store. These are the real deal. Chewy, fluffy, and so gloriously substantial, you could use one as a small, edible pillow. I'm pretty sure I saw someone trying to hug one. They were that good. So, if you're looking for a bagel experience that's less "breakfast" and more "religious experience," Rubinstein is your place. Just be prepared to face the existential dread of choosing a single bagel from their magnificent, carb-laden army. And maybe bring a friend, to help you carry all the bagels you'll inevitably buy.
March 30 · Paul Cinai was thrilled to try out this place for the first time! i was especially excited to get a breakfast bagel. i ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel to-go. when they finished my bagel, i didn’t check my order to make sure it was correct especially because it was labeled with my name. unfortunately, when i got home, i opened the wrapping to see that i was given an everything bagel with egg, cheese, and sausage instead. everything was slightly off. it wasn’t what i had ordered. it isn’t a big deal but it was also 14$ for a single sandwich. overall, i’d say probably order and eat there to ensure you receive the correct meal!
