Soga Mochi Donut Brooklyn Park Introduce
For residents of the Twin Cities seeking a truly unique and modern twist on classic sweets, Soga Mochi Donut Brooklyn Park has quickly become a standout destination. This specialized Donut shop introduces the delightful textural experience of the mochi donut, a treat that fuses Japanese mochi (a rice cake known for its chewy texture) with the familiar, ring-shaped American donut. The result is a dessert with a slightly crispy exterior and an irresistibly airy, elastic, and chewy interior—often described by customers as the "freshest and tastiest" mochi donuts they've ever had.
Soga Mochi Donut offers a welcome departure from the traditional fried dough offerings common throughout Minnesota. Their menu is an exciting blend of authentic Asian-inspired flavors and fun, colorful American cereal toppings, demonstrating a creative culinary approach. This spot is more than just a purveyor of donuts; it also specializes in the trendy, savory, and satisfying Korean Corn Dog, offering a complete experience for both sweet and savory cravings. Operating with a focus on quick service in a casual, highly accessible location, Soga Mochi Donut is positioned as an essential stop for a “Quick visit” in the Brooklyn Park area.
The bakery proudly emphasizes its commitment to quality, often crafting the donuts and corn dogs to order, ensuring maximum freshness. This dedication to serving the "freshest" products is what draws Minnesotans from across the region to experience the unique 'pon de ring' shape and texture that sets the mochi donut apart.
Soga Mochi Donut is strategically located at 8020 Brooklyn Blvd suite 3, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445, USA. A key piece of local information is that the shop is situated inside of the Dragon Star grocery store. This placement offers an exceptional level of convenience, allowing Twin Cities residents to grab a special treat after completing their grocery shopping, or to make a specific trip for a unique dessert experience.
The location is highly accessible for those traveling through the Brooklyn Park area, a major suburb of Minneapolis. Furthermore, the shop ensures ease of access for all patrons with the following provisions:
- Wheelchair Accessible Entrance: Provides a seamless entry point for all guests.
- Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot: Ensures convenient parking near the entrance, minimizing travel distance for customers picking up orders.
While the atmosphere is noted as a "made to order booth" with "No table to sit on," suggesting a highly efficient Casual setup focused on quick transactions, the proximity to a major grocery store simplifies the overall visit for busy local shoppers.
Soga Mochi Donut’s service model is built for the modern, fast-paced customer, focusing heavily on efficient collection and delivery of their specialized goods.
- Takeout: The primary method of service, emphasizing a streamlined process for picking up pre-ordered or freshly prepared items. Customers can use the ordering kiosk for quick service.
- Delivery: Provides the ultimate convenience for Twin Cities customers who prefer to have their treats brought directly to their home or workplace.
- Onsite services: This refers to the ability to walk in and place an order using the available kiosk system, with assistance available by ringing a bell for help or online order pick-up.
- Specialized Dessert & Snack Menu: Offers a dual menu of specialty mochi donuts and hearty Korean corn dogs, catering to both the Dessert and savory snack categories.
The Soga Mochi Donut experience is defined by its unique product offerings and the thoughtful structure of its service environment.
- The Mochi Donut: The star feature is the donut itself. Available in a wide array of rotating, innovative flavors—such as Fruity Pebbles Mochi Donut, Kinako (Roasted Soy Bean) * Almond, Matcha Mochi Donut, and Taro Mochi Donut—it offers a uniquely chewy and delightful texture that local donut enthusiasts crave.
- Savory Korean Corn Dogs: A highly popular complementary product, featuring options like the Mini Potato Dog, Classic Dog, and Ramen Chip Dog. These deep-fried, savory items (often containing cheese and/or hot dog, coated in a rice flour batter) provide a satisfying counterbalance to the sweet donuts.
- Pricing Transparency: Menu pricing is clearly structured, with singles ($3.25–$3.50) and value packs available (Half Dozen at $18.50, Dozen at $36.00, though customer reviews suggest smaller combo pricing may be available at the counter), allowing Minnesotans to budget their treats easily.
- Modern Payment Options: Facilitates a fast checkout process by accepting Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, aligning with modern customer preferences for a "Quick visit."
- Novelty Cotton Candy Machine: Adds a fun, interactive element to the visit, particularly appreciated by families with children.

Soga Mochi Donut is worth choosing for Minnesotans seeking an experiential and quality-focused sweet treat that cannot be found at a standard donut chain. The core reason to visit is the freshness and superior texture of their signature mochi donuts. Customers consistently highlight the "FRESHEST and tastiest" quality, a result of the shop's likely commitment to smaller-batch, often made-to-order preparation. For those hosting an event or simply treating the office, ordering a Half Dozen or Dozen provides an impressive variety of flavors that will introduce guests to a new and exciting dessert concept.
Furthermore, this establishment provides a rare and authentic pairing of popular Asian street food items. The combination of a chewy, colorful mochi donut and a hot, savory Korean Corn Dog offers a complete and satisfying meal or snack. However, as some customer feedback indicates minor quality inconsistencies with the corn dog frying process (such as a burnt outer crust), it is best chosen for the savory, cheesy filling and unique coating, but the mochi donuts are the absolute must-try feature that guarantees a unique and highly recommended dessert experience in the Twin Cities metro. The fusion of flavors, the efficient ordering system via kiosk, and the accessible Brooklyn Park location make Soga Mochi Donut a highly valuable and unique local food asset.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Easy to order using the kiosk. Ring the bell if you need help or you have an online order pick up. Clean and tidy restaurant. No table to sit on. It was more like a made to order booth.I ordered a 6-pack mix of mochi donuts (taro, matcha, Oreo, fruity pebbles, circus, and strawberry) for $16.50 and an all cheese classic dog for $5.24. Had my order in about 10 mins. The mochi donuts were the FRESHEST and tastiest mochi donuts I have ever had. 5 stars on the mochi donuts. I would highly recommend and repurchase. However, the classic dog was one of the worst I’ve had. The cheese was great, melty, cheesy and tasty but the outer crust tasted burnt and bitter. Like it was overcooked or old oil that needed to be changed. I give this maybe 2 stars and would not recommend or repurchase. There’s also a cute cotton candy machine in front of the store. We didn’t buy but saw another customer order. Super cute and the kids & parents seemed happy and excited.
November 11 · B XIt is inside of Dragon star grocery store. Nice to try once. Service is not the fastest as it seems there might be only one person working. However, the lady was very nice. The donuts tasted very good. The Korean corn dog was very good as well. The corn dogs are half sizes, but you get 2 of them. The matcha drink was okay. For reference, see my photo. I recommend trying it at least once. Wish they had a seating area to eat or wait.
January 13 · NayCute little mochi donut place. Located inside Dragon star grocery store. Donuts were yummy. Super soft! It did taste more like oil fried. The only time we tasted the flavor was if it was like a strong flavor. Like matcha tea. The presentation of the donuts are pretty. The corn dog wasn’t too bad. Staffs are super friendly and nice.
June 27 · Aenna Vuelocated inside dragon star grocery store (so convenient) these donuts were delicious, appetizing to look at, and came hot and fresh! i found my newest addiction. they also were fairly inexpensive, i would say!i must try the korean corn dog next
December 28 · Ashley SinnoraiMochi donuts are good. Remember to get a flavored one because the plain one is well, plain, lol. I always get the sugar glazed one. I also bought the half hotdogs half cheese stick and that was good. Next time, I will get just the cheese! This is located inside Dragon Star, and they don't seem to have a lot of staff, so you will wait a little bit for your order. On the other hand, at least your food is made to order, right?
