★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Somethin’ Sweet Donuts is a fantastic immigrant-owned business to support and an essential stop for anyone in Albany Park. Fresh & well-made donuts - the matcha and Ube donuts are especially great flavors to try, and they don’t skimp on the filling! The new location on Montrose is a gorgeous space, full of thoughtful decor and family photos. Their coffee is also 10/10 - so citrus-y and balanced. It’s sourced from Big Shoulders, a woman-owned coffee supplier in Chicago, so you can support two great businesses at once. They’re also nut-free - great for folks with nut allergies. Can’t recc this place enough!
August 06 · Stephanie Alejandra OrtegaWhat I noticed about this Albany Park establishment, is that it’s a neghborhood staple. Many people come in here weekly with their families, prior to starting their Saturday festivities.First thing you notice is that their offerings are unique to the owner’s heritage. Matcha and ube (purple yam) filled bismark donuts are a specialty. But even their regular donuts are very good!!This is a big winner, but there are some places that I feel are just as good if not slightly better. That’s not to say that if I lived closer that this would not be my “go to”.A solid 4.5⭐️s. Owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. If ever in this area again, will try more of their baked goods!
May 24 · RoloFirst time visiting this place, they have a good portion of options for donuts- as much as I wanted to try all of them, I chose to try the matcha filled one and blubbery filled. My fav was the blueberry bismark donut! Shop small and support small businesses like Somethin’ Sweet Donuts! Definitely check them out if you haven’t!
September 26 · Amy LeeWow! One of the best Bavarian creams I've ever had, the apple claw was great too, the glazed part was mind blowing! The cinnamon one was really good too just overshadowed by the others! 10$ for 3 high quality donuts, fair price, highly recommend . Not enough donut shops in Chicago haha
July 20 · Brandon HappDonuts are tasty enough (nothing spectacular but will satisfy your craving) but the price will keep me from returning. $24 for six donuts is just too much anywhere, but especially given how small these are. This does include specialty donuts, but like half of their donuts are "specialty" and they aren't really that much bigger or more complex than their regular donuts, so the price differential is a bit too much in my opinion. $15 for half a dozen of their basic donuts is still at the high end for donuts almost anywhere. This place may be a good spot for a special occasion if you just want one donut, but it is not reasonable nor worth the money as a regular donut stop.
