Located in the picturesque village of Stockholm, this establishment has transcended its local roots to achieve national recognition, frequently lauded as one of the best pie shops in America. It is a true slice of Wisconsin heritage and comfort.
This beloved pie shop is nestled on the second floor of a beautifully preserved, historic building—the famed 1877 stoneware factory, also known as the Pottery Place. The setting immediately immerses visitors in a quaint, authentic atmosphere featuring rugged wood floors, exposed brick, and a cozy corner cafe vibe. The business is a complete destination, functioning as a "Pie shop" and cafe that offers not only an incredible selection of handmade pies, but also a savory menu of sandwiches, quiches, and pot pies, all crafted from scratch.
What sets Stockholm Pie apart, according to both customers and critics, is the commitment to old-fashioned, high-quality ingredients and techniques. The proprietors pride themselves on making every pie "the way grandma did," one at a time, ensuring a delicious, flaky crust and fillings packed with goodness. Beyond the dining experience, the location also houses the Stockholm General Store and often an art gallery, making it a perfect, multi-faceted stop for a quick visit or a relaxing afternoon along the majestic Mississippi River. For Wisconsin locals, a trip to Stockholm Pie is not just about eating dessert; it’s about embracing a cherished tradition of hospitality and culinary excellence.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Quaint corner cafe on the second floor with a selective menu of sandwiches, quiches, pot pies and the ever necessary pies. Located in the famed 1877 stoneware factory building this little slice of heaven embraces the rugged wood floors, authentic brick interior and the oilcloth covered tables. My Classic Chicken Pot Pie was a nice mixture of large chunks of chicken, mixed vegetables in a savory sauce baked in a flaky, warm crust. My wife’s Apple Sausage Quiche was also very tasty with a cheesy, flaky texture. Both came with a side salad of fresh mixed greens, cucumbers, croutons, tomatoes in a vinaigrette dressing. Tiffany was an exceptional host, offering suggestions and working with us in our ever present state of confusion. A general store is located on the main floor with the ever available touristy items and a selection of candies and chocolates. One can also browse the antiques located throughout or take in the fine art at the Abode Gallery.
May 06 · Philip WardSuper cute little Cafe on the second floor of the historic Pottery Place. We enjoyed good sandwiches and great pie. They had plenty of options. The staff was friendly. Many locals ordered out while others dined in and enjoyed the ambiance. I also purchased some items from the darling General store on the first floor. Cute gifts, nostalgic candy, candles, kitchen items, socks and so much more.
September 25 · LeslieI would have taken pictures of the pies themselves but I ate mine so fast. I think the best value for money for an individual or small group here is getting their pie cookies, which are essentially apple turnovers (they have other flavors don’t worry). Otherwise their whole pie selection is probably the best bet for a bigger. They have unique pie flavors but very few of the staples.
May 21 · Jeremiah AnthonyWe had warm piggy and maiden rock sandwiches and chicken pot pie. The pot pie was pretty good. The sandwiches had a lot of sweet sauce which we would have liked better with much less.
August 01 · John WalkerYummy food and amazing pie! Fantastic service, very friendly which shows they were happy to work there. I had the beef pot pie with side salad, and a slice of blueberry buttermilk pie with homemade whipped cream.
