Sweet Mochi Introduce
For Oregon residents looking to explore a truly unique blend of contemporary dessert trends and savory street food,
Sweet Mochi at the Clackamas Town Center in Happy Valley offers an exciting and diverse menu that goes far beyond the traditional donut shop experience. This establishment successfully fuses three popular concepts—
Donut shop,
Dessert shop, and
Ice cream shop—creating a vibrant hub for specialty Asian-inspired treats. Situated conveniently within a major retail destination, Sweet Mochi has quickly become a local favorite for those seeking something different, offering an appealing mix of sweet, chewy, and savory.
The star of the show is the
Mochi Donut, a pastry that is vastly different from its yeast or cake counterparts. Made with sweet rice flour, these donuts boast an exquisite crisp exterior and a signature soft, chewy, and stretchy interior—a texture known for its 'alluring sticky addictiveness.' Shaped like a ring of eight small, delicate dough balls, they are as aesthetically pleasing as they are delicious.
However, Sweet Mochi doesn't stop at desserts. They are equally popular for their Korean street food offerings, specifically their authentic, deep-fried
Corn Dogs (often called K-Dogs), and an extensive selection of flavorful
Boba Tea. This unusual but perfectly complementary menu makes it the ideal casual stop for both a main snack and a sweet finish, catering to a broad range of tastes within the local Happy Valley community and beyond.
Sweet Mochi is a compelling culinary destination located in the heart of the Clackamas Town Center in Happy Valley, OR. While officially classified as a hybrid
Donut shop,
Dessert shop, and
Ice cream shop, its true identity lies in its specialization in Korean and Japanese-inspired delicacies. The entire concept is centered around providing fresh, high-quality, and texturally interesting food and drinks in a
Casual setting.
The shop’s philosophy is to bring together three distinct but complementary products. First are the famous
Mochi Donuts, celebrated for their unique 'pon de ring' shape and irresistibly chewy texture, which is a result of using rice flour. Second is the exciting savory selection of deep-fried
Corn Dogs, available in a variety of coatings and fillings that provide a satisfyingly crispy and savory counterpoint to the sweets. Finally, the vast
Boba (bubble tea) menu offers a refreshing and customizable beverage experience. Sweet Mochi caters exceptionally well to the modern consumer, as evidenced by its popularity for
Solo dining and quick, on-the-go visits in the local Oregon area.

Sweet Mochi in Happy Valley is an essential choice for Oregon locals and visitors who appreciate a
modern, global, and highly textural dining experience. The primary reason to visit is the signature
Mochi Donut. For those unfamiliar with this style, it offers a refreshing alternative to traditional cake or raised donuts, providing a delightful chewiness that is both addictive and memorable. Sweet Mochi allows customers to buy in packs, making it perfect for sharing with friends or family.
Furthermore, the establishment offers a rare combination of treats, making it a true one-stop-shop: a highly savory and customizable
Korean Corn Dog paired with a sweet, chewy
Mochi Donut and a refreshing
Boba Tea. This unique trio is what sets Sweet Mochi apart in the local market, making it an adventurous and satisfying destination for a full-spectrum snack.
It is important for customers to note that while the concept is stellar, consistency is key. One review mentioned issues with the corn dog batter being uncooked in part of the dog and mochi donuts having a slightly artificial taste. While most of the shop's offerings are considered hits, customers should ensure their savory items are thoroughly cooked and be prepared for the distinct, often strong, flavor profiles that come with these specialized, rotating donut glazes. Overall, the unique combination of sweet and savory Asian street food and dessert at a highly accessible mall location makes Sweet Mochi a destination
worth choosing for a quick, adventurous, and flavorful treat in the Happy Valley region.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Quick and easy service, I was unfortunately told that you guys only offered waffle cone instead of the taiyaki which was a bit deceiving and disappointing especially considering the price. Don’t know if this was because they ran out or what, still wish it was made more clear before I had already decided to order
July 20 · Ruby JacklichGot the potato corn dogs, half cheese, half hotdog, with the crazy sauce and powder, the cheese part was good but when we got to the hotdog there was still uncooked batter. Took about 10 minutes for it to come out. The mochi donuts were okay, had that artificial taste to it.
November 11 · Emily BoWe ordered the potato hotdog, Thai tea and Soft cup ice cream. Those are so good and yummy. Crews are kind and generous.
October 15 · Morai BallFirst time had Korean potato corn dog IT WAS OUTSTANDING, will be back. The mochi donuts were not to sweet like regular donuts the blueberry donuts had real blueberries. Definitely will be back when in town.
August 18 · Bendubai chocolate strawberries were nasty. the pistachio cream was bright green, gooey and kinda slimy instead of creamy. the strawberries tasted like are just about to go bad and we also had to wait 15 minutes for a soft serve. bad service over all.
