My go-to bakery in Chinatown. It never disappoints. The prices are super affordable.I've been to quite a few bakeries in the neighborhood but I know that I can always rely on Taipan being so so fresh and consistently good. I absolutely love the taro bun, which is well filled with a good taro flavor and oh my goodness when it's fresh out of the oven, and love the pork floss bun which is perfectly balanced in the amount of pork floss. The breads are soft and pillowy making it very easy to eat a few too many buns all at once. I've sent myself into belly aches from fullness multiple times after eating 3 or 4 buns at one time with the initial intention of only eating 1 bun. This is a solid spot for egg tarts. The egg tart is one of my favorite egg tarts in chinatown (there is only one other bakery that rivals it). They have both the classic and portuguese style. And a few different flavors as well.Every single time I'm in Chinatown, I always make a stop here whether I planned to or not, whether I'm hungry or not. - Jessica Yang
