Taste Rite Jamaican Bakery Introduce
For many residents of Florida, particularly those in Broward County, the search for truly authentic, high-quality Caribbean cuisine is a continuous quest. Taste Rite Jamaican Bakery, nestled in the vibrant community of Sunrise, stands out as a genuine local gem that delivers on this promise. This establishment is not just a bakery; it is a culinary anchor for the local Jamaican and Caribbean community, offering a taste of the islands that is both authentic and incredibly accessible. It functions as the go-to spot for those seeking comfort food, a quick and satisfying lunch, or the essential baked goods needed to complete a traditional home-cooked meal.
Taste Rite specializes in the staples that define Jamaican bakery culture. The core of their offering revolves around robust, savory patties and a diverse range of freshly baked breads and soft, rich puddings. The tone here is distinct—unpretentious, focused on tradition, and known locally for the quality of its foundational ingredients and baking techniques. While the name suggests baked goods, local Floridians understand that a Jamaican bakery also means a serious focus on the legendary, flaky, and heavily seasoned savory patties that are a meal in themselves. This fusion of sweet and savory defines its unique place in the South Florida food scene, attracting customers from far beyond the immediate Sunrise neighborhood, often traveling to secure their favorite loaves and fillings.
The demand and reputation speak volumes, as noted by local patrons who appreciate having such a good “patty place” nearby, often referencing the relief of not having to travel further afield for quality. This high demand is a testament to the bakery’s authenticity and flavor profile, which remains one of its greatest draws for the Florida community seeking genuine island taste.
Taste Rite Jamaican Bakery is strategically situated at 8648 NW 44th St, Sunrise, FL 33351, USA. Choosing Taste Rite Jamaican Bakery is highly recommended for any Florida resident seeking an authentic taste of the Caribbean for several compelling reasons. Firstly, its value lies in its specialization. While some local bakeries offer Jamaican items as an afterthought, Taste Rite is dedicated entirely to this cuisine, meaning their core products—the patties, the coco bread, the hard dough bread—are baked with a singular focus on traditional quality and flavor. Customers consistently highlight the excellent quality of the food, with bread described as "soft and nice" and fillings "very tasty," demonstrating the high level of execution.
Secondly, the convenience of a "good patty place near my job," as one local stated, cannot be overstated. In South Florida, where traffic and travel time are always a factor, having a reliable source for authentic, satisfying meals like a hot patty and coco bread right in Sunrise is a major advantage. While the customer service experience has been cited as a point of frustration, particularly when popular items like patties are sold out, the recurring theme among local feedback is that the quality of the food is so compelling that patrons are willing to overlook minor service interruptions or time their visits strategically. This willingness to return, even amidst minor complaints, is the strongest possible endorsement of the product itself.
Finally, the comprehensive menu—covering savory breads, unique meat and vegetable loaves, and a spectrum of traditional 'Sweet 'Tings' like Toto and puddings—makes it a full-service cultural experience. For anyone in the Florida region looking to stock their pantry with genuine Caribbean baked goods or simply craving a delicious, filling, and affordable lunch, Taste Rite Jamaican Bakery offers an authentic flavor profile that few others can match, making it a true local treasure in Sunrise.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Discovered it was nearby and was excited to go try one of these great patties I've been hearing about only to be rudely greeted and dismissed because they were out of patties. Disappointed is the nicest word I can use as I just walked in and I was there less than 2 minutes. I'll have to be desperate for a patty to go back to this location, the cashier was awful and incredibly rude.
September 13 · Maureen HamiltonImagine a fresh, perfectly warm, soft, aromatic and buttery coco bread or meat loaf! Yeah that’s what you want when you think of eating bread. While my meatloaf was a little less warm than I liked…it was delicious. I am definitely going to come back and time it for when they come out of the oven.My meatloaf’s bread was soft and nice and the filling was very tasty.I will say this, I’ll be back now that I know there is a good patty place near my job!!!! And I don’t have to drive all the way to Charlie’s 😳…I will make this final note. The place was plenty busy and that is what I love to see at a restaurant. That means they are good!!!!
May 11 · Arif AliAnd this is how you lose a loyal customer. This is the second time I’ve been here and they’ve sold me patties that aren’t taste rite patties. You can tell the taste is different. The beef tastes and smells weird. I’ve been to this store so many times and these last two times you’ve just disappointed me. I don’t know if the patties are just old or underbaked but something isn’t right. The patties are breaking apart literally just being in the bag. I knew something wasn’t right when she gave me two beef patties instead of the one I asked for. When it was time to pay I double checked and made sure it was only one beef patty, she said yes and only charged me for one but gave me two old patties. As if she was trying to get rid of these patties. You don’t do this especially not to your loyal customers that are always coming back! I am extremely upset because this is such a waste of money and time because now I have to find something else to eat after driving down here from Lakes. Smh! It was the same issue with the cheese patties by the way.. You just lost a loyal customer and it’s sad smh. When I go to the North Lauderdale location or the one in Miami Gardens I NEVER have an issue! Make the drive because this store ain’t worth it😒
June 17 · Keriesha DurlooThese patties are so delicious I have been obsessed with them! I really recommend if you like patties. Literally don’t get patties if there not from here💕
August 23 · Its AlexisFirst time at this bakery and the staff are super friendly. The beef patties here are just delicious. They are not super greasy like some of the others and not overcooked to the point they burst. I'll be back next week to try something else.
