Tates Bake Shop Factory Introduce
Hello, New Yorkers! When you hear the name Tate's Bake Shop, you likely think of those iconic, thin, and crispy chocolate chip cookies that have become a staple in grocery stores and pantries across the state and beyond. But for those on Long Island, particularly in the East Moriches area, there's a unique opportunity to get a taste of this local legend right at its source: the Tate's Bake Shop Factory. This isn't just a place where the magic happens; it's a destination where you can experience the company's famous products firsthand. While Tate's has grown into a major brand, its roots are firmly planted in the Hamptons, and the factory location offers a direct connection to that legacy. This article will provide you with an in-depth look at what makes the Tate's Bake Shop Factory a must-visit for cookie enthusiasts, covering its location, products, and a few key considerations for your visit.
The reputation of Tate's cookies is built on their unique texture and flavor. As one customer review puts it, they are "definitely above average, shelf stable, store cookies." The cookies are described as "very crispy, light, and airy on the initial bite, but quickly become soft and melty in your mouth," a perfect balance that has won over countless fans. This high-quality experience is a direct result of the company's commitment to using real, high-quality ingredients, which shines through in every bite. For New Yorkers who appreciate a classic chocolate chip cookie that tastes "very high quality" and has a homemade feel, a visit to the factory is a chance to get a firsthand look at where these beloved treats are made.
However, it's worth noting that the factory's primary function is production, which can sometimes influence the customer experience. As another review mentions, the prices can be on the higher side, which is "obviously overpriced because it’s the Hamptons, so that’s expected." It's also important for visitors to manage their expectations regarding the in-person service. The factory operates on a different scale than a small retail bakery, and the focus is on efficient production and distribution. While the cookies themselves are a major draw, being prepared for the environment and service style is a good idea. Despite these points, the chance to buy fresh cookies and other Tate's products directly from the factory is a major highlight for many, and it's an experience that a trip to the local grocery store simply can't replicate.
Tate's Bake Shop Factory is located at 62 Pine St, East Moriches, NY 11940, USA. This location is situated on the eastern end of Long Island, making it a convenient stop for those living in or traveling through the area. East Moriches is easily accessible via major Long Island roadways, particularly Montauk Highway, which is a main artery connecting the Hamptons to the rest of the island. The factory is not a typical storefront but a working facility, so it’s important to note that the retail experience is based on this context. The location is easily found with GPS and offers parking, which is a major convenience for those driving out to visit.
For many New Yorkers, a trip to this part of Long Island is a part of their summer or weekend plans, and visiting the factory can be a fun and delicious addition to their itinerary. The accessibility by car is a major plus, as public transportation options to this specific address are limited. This makes the factory a great destination for a short road trip with friends or family. Its location away from the bustling crowds of Manhattan offers a more relaxed and focused experience, where the main attraction is the product itself.
The factory specializes in the production of Tate's famous baked goods. While it is a wholesale facility, it does have a retail component where customers can purchase a variety of products.
- Signature Crispy Cookies: The main product is their wide range of crispy cookies, including the famous chocolate chip, as well as oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, and more.
- Gluten-Free and Other Varieties: Tate's has expanded its offerings to include gluten-free and vegan cookies, providing options for customers with dietary restrictions.
- Factory-Direct Purchases: Visitors can buy their products directly from the factory, which may offer a wider selection or special items not always available at local grocery stores.
- Other Baked Goods: Beyond cookies, Tate's also produces brownies, cakes, and pies, which may be available for purchase at the factory store.
- Gift and Specialty Items: The factory may also have a selection of gift baskets or specialty items, which are perfect for holidays or special occasions.
Tate's Bake Shop Factory is known for several key features and highlights that make it a unique destination.
- Iconic Cookies: The primary highlight is, without a doubt, the product itself. Tate's cookies have a devoted following due to their unique crispy texture, rich butter flavor, and high-quality ingredients.
- Behind-the-Scenes Experience: Visiting the factory offers a chance to get closer to the source of these famous treats, providing a different kind of experience than simply buying them from a store shelf.
- Wide Variety of Products: The factory outlet is a great place to explore the full range of Tate's offerings, including seasonal and less-common flavors.
- Commitment to Quality: Despite its large-scale production, Tate's maintains a reputation for using high-quality ingredients, which is a major selling point for health-conscious and discerning customers.
- Established Local Brand: Tate's is a true local success story, having grown from a small shop in Southampton to a nationally recognized brand. Visiting the factory connects you to this impressive Long Island history.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- These are definitely above average, shelf stable, store cookies. They taste very high quality and the chocolate melts in your mouth. These chocolate chip cookies are very crispy, light, and airy on the initial bite, but quickly become soft and melty in your mouth absorbing your saliva in a good way after you chew it. They are yummy. December 09 · Munchica
- Obviously overpriced because it’s the Hamptons, so that’s expected. However, what annoys me is the customer service experience when you walk in. Why do they act like you are bother when you are giving them your money?! A blonde young girl was super rude and a guy behind the counter was talking about his personal life to the employees while serving me. Unprofessional. Please get humble, nice, friendly people who enjoy being in customer service! April 10 · Shaina C
- I usually like their cookies, size has become smaller and their 'NEW" flavor of Salted Caramel Chocolate is disgusting. They smell and taste as if they are burnt and have chalk like texture. I am sorry but this is not it. October 16 · ZMB 8613
- Tate's Bake Shop was an adventure into "The Bake Shop Way." It's a journey where tradition, passion, and exceptional taste intersect, leaving you with memories of sweet indulgence. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this bake shop is a destination worth every mile on the odometer. Enjoy the sweetness of "The Bake Shop Way" on your next visit! September 02 · Humberto Flores
- These cookies used to be so good my friend passed them off as home made using a fancy plate. I bought the chocolate chip cookie’s today and found them to be half the size and sparse on the chips. Too bad everything today is a shadow of the past May 28 · Ronnie Ralson
