The Gourmet Cobbler Factory Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the vibrant and diverse culinary landscape of Pasadena, California, The Gourmet Cobbler Factory distinguishes itself as a specialty bakery with a deeply nostalgic appeal. This establishment is primarily dedicated to the craft of cobbler making, an art form that evokes the comfort and authenticity of classic American home baking. For local users in the California region, who appreciate genuine, scratch-made desserts, this factory offers a unique focus on fruit cobblers and related pie-style creations, providing a welcome change from mass-produced sweets. The very name suggests a commitment to both quality (Gourmet) and volume (Factory), striving to deliver an elevated, yet accessible, homemade experience.
Patrons describe the venue as a "little whole in the wall," a term that often signifies a hidden gem where the focus is firmly on the quality of the food rather than elaborate décor. The cobblers are noted as being "apparently home made," confirming the perception of authenticity and traditional preparation methods. The menu, however, holds a compelling surprise: alongside the expected sweet offerings like the popular peach cobbler, The Gourmet Cobbler Factory also ventures into savory territory with items like BBQ ribs. This unexpected culinary duality makes the factory a truly unique establishment in Pasadena, serving not only the dessert craving but also providing a source for quick, hearty, savory fare. This willingness to offer diverse, comforting food items enhances its value to the local community, positioning it as a convenient, specialized takeout stop for both main courses and dessert. This multifaceted approach, rooted in the quality of its specialty cobblers, makes it a must-try for Californians seeking authentic flavor and culinary discovery.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I would say, thought it was going to be excellent! I have been lookin for a bbq place close by. The cobbler was good, the bbq ribs did not have sauce while baked, they poured it on after. I love my ribs baked with sauce on them and add it later if needed. So still looking for an excellent! Place.
August 21 · Patricia MesquiteMy son wanted some pie, and it was this little whole in the wall with apparently home made cobblers - a bit too sweet for both our tastes (we had the peach cobbler), but authentic it was
July 12 · Alban GerhardtLocated on a sleepier and quieter side of Pasadena, The Gourmet Cobbler Factory is run by a nice old Black couple. Their other business is Clifton's BBQ which is two store fronts merged together. It is tucked away on the side of a building and initially is hard to find but there is tons of street parking. My mom and I saw a Huell Howser special on them a while back and for sure this couple has been baking cobblers and bbq for over thirty years now at least.I like getting their cobblers and taking it home to eat with some ice cream. Just two scoops over the 4x6 pies is enough as a good dessert. The bbq is good too and arguably better than Gus' and Lucille's. Would the pies be more if you got it from Marie Callender's? Of course it would just like any other major restaurant but the charm of the Gourmet Cobble Factory is not just the cobblers and bbq but getting to support local businesses -- our mom and pop businesses especially black owned. If you're in the area, stop by the Gourmet Cobbler Factory and pick up some cobblers and bbq.
July 19 · Jacqueline LeeI went in to buy a pie to bring to a bbq. I ended up buying three, sweet potato, peach and berry. They were all delicious!!
June 10 · Mikiko KitamuraDecently priced and delicious pecan pies (single serving sized), even when they're not in season (I bought mine in August). Small business run by a nice older couple. Get there early as they might run out ahead of closing time, which is what happened the first time I tried to go there (they close at 6pm on specific days, but were closed at 5 on the day that I tried). Also, calling in advance is hit or miss, as the voicemail is full.
