The Hungry Gnome Introduce
In the dynamic and ever-evolving culinary landscape of Long Island City, a true gem for baked goods has firmly established itself: **The Hungry Gnome**. This isn't your average neighborhood bakery; it's a specialty bakeshop, spearheaded by Chef Danielle Sepsy, renowned for its artisanal approach to classic comforts. While many New Yorkers might first encounter The Hungry Gnome's delightful creations through local coffee shops or online orders, their Long Island City base is where the magic happens.
The Hungry Gnome specializes in perfecting beloved staples like scones, biscuits, and muffins, taking them "one step better" to achieve what many customers enthusiastically declare as "the best they've ever had." Their commitment to high-quality ingredients and a meticulous baking process is evident in every bite, from the unbelievably good buttermilk biscuits to the moist and flavorful scones. This dedication has cultivated a fiercely loyal customer base who often find themselves craving more after just one taste. The Hungry Gnome operates from its primary location at **47-10 Austell Pl Ground Floor, Long Island City, NY 11101, USA**. This address places it within the bustling and increasingly popular Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, a hub of creativity and culinary innovation just across the East River from Manhattan.
While a wholesale bakery and online retailer, the ground floor presence suggests a direct point of contact for customers, whether for pre-ordered pickups or direct purchases. Long Island City is exceptionally well-connected by New York City's extensive public transportation system. The bakery's location is within reasonable walking distance of several subway lines, including the 7, G, E, and M trains at various nearby stations (e.g., Hunters Point Avenue, Court Square, Queens Plaza), providing direct access from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and other parts of Queens. Numerous bus routes also crisscross the Long Island City area. For those driving, street parking can be challenging, though often less so than in Manhattan, and commercial parking garages are available throughout the neighborhood. The area around Austell Place is a mix of industrial and residential, reflecting LIC's evolving landscape, making The Hungry Gnome a convenient stop for locals heading to work, exploring the neighborhood, or deliberately seeking out their beloved baked goods.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The Big Brunch led me to try Danielle’s scones, and I can only imagine how amazing they must taste fresh from her bakery.I ordered the Gnomie Favorites Package, which included six "Everything" Buttermilk Biscuits. These biscuits are unbelievably good—both the texture and flavor are outstanding. After just one bite, I was craving more and ended up eating three in one day, no shame. I’d rather have these delivered to my house than buy canned biscuits for biscuits and gravy any day. I even considered hosting gatherings just to share her incredible baked goods. If she ever comes up with a gluten-free biscuit recipe, I know many people would love it.Everything we tried was fantastic. I baked my items a bit longer for a crispier texture, and they turned out amazing. While I may not order frequently, I’ll definitely be a repeat customer at least once a year and spread the word about her delicious baked goods. I might even suggest placing an order at my workplace. The service was also amazing. I mistakenly thought my order would be delivered on the same day I placed it—totally my error. Despite this, Danielle herself offered a discount for my next order. It was a very kind gesture, showing she truly cares about her customers.
June 09 · cecilia wagnerMy kids and I enjoyed the chocolate chip scones and the cherry vanilla bean scones. They were not dry at all. The blueberry crumb, the raspberry ricotta, and the lemon poppy were moist and the crumbs on the top had good crunch.
April 14 · Jane LeeHungry Gnome has quickly become my go-to baked goods provider for basically anything - parties, get togethers, gifting, etc. their website is super easy to use and placing orders for when you want your goods delivered is so simple. not to mention, the goods themselves are some of the best you can get! always super fresh and flavorful, with new and creative treats debuting quite frequently. 10/10 recommend!
March 17 · Gerard DarcyI have been ordering from The Hungry Gnome for several years - long before all the TV appearances, long before all the talk shows, and even before the HBO hit - The Big Brunch. I have always loved the amazing variety of baked goods from the scones to the biscuits and eventually the cookies and Nutella Banana bread and more. They are so tasty - I have sent them to countless friends as Thank you gifts, congratulations gifts, for birthdays, ahead of arriving at a party and housewarmings. Everybody loves them and thanks me for introducing them to such amazing products. I also order them regularly for my family who can’t get enough. So delicious, you must try these baked goodies from the Hungry Gnome. You will love them too.
December 09 · Larry MasceraI learned about Danielle and The Hungry Gnome after watching her on The Big Brunch. I love a good scone, and my wife's favorite treat is a chocolate chip cookie. We ordered a box of scones, cookies and biscuits and were completely BLOWN AWAY. I don't think I can eat a scone from anywhere else ever again! The cookies were unlike any other. And the biscuits were perfect. I never knew a biscuit could taste so good. I will be a frequent repeat customer, and like other reviews have mentioned, I can't wait to send these as gifts to introduce my family and friends to these amazing baked goods!
