Features / Highlights
Tulie Bakery’s reputation is built on several key features that set it apart in the Utah bakery scene:
- World-Class Laminated Doughs: Their croissants—including classics like Frangipane and Chocolate, as well as unique Tahini and savory Ham and Cheese options—are widely considered best-in-class within Salt Lake City.
- The Legendary Sticky Bun: Consistently cited as a favorite, often requested "warmed up," this pastry is a must-try for any local looking for an exceptional sweet treat.
- Signature Olive Oil Cake: Praised for being incredibly moist with a unique flavor profile, their Olive Oil Cake (sometimes featuring Yuzu) has a cult following among regulars.
- Focus on High-Quality Ingredients: The bakery prides itself on using the best available ingredients, including local and organic dairy and premium chocolate, which translates directly into superior product flavor and texture.
- Community Vibe: The intentional absence of Wi-Fi and the use of communal tables foster an atmosphere designed to encourage conversation and a break from digital distractions, appealing to those seeking a more present, analog experience.
It must be factually noted that, while the food quality is often superb, there are occasional customer reports citing slow service, isolated instances of staff rudeness, and a lack of readily visible bussing stations. However, the consistent quality of the baked goods is the primary driver of its popularity, with many guests rating the establishment as their "Favorite bakery in town!"

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The redeeming quality of this place is the food. Otherwise the cafe is hot, you have no cell service and I’m sorry but in 2025 why do they not have WiFi? I couldn’t even get an uber to get out of there. This has not only happened to me but my friends as well when they have visited. It’s a safety concern. I ended up having to pay for Wi-Fi just to leave. I waited 20 minutes for toast when I was only one of two people in the cafe. The staff are short at best and very consistently rude. They didn’t have a place to put your dishes that I could find so I cleaned up my trash as best I could and left my one plate and one cup. Was yelled at as I left so I walked back in to buss my dishes after I said sorry I couldn’t see anywhere to put them. It felt like they wanted to embarrass me. I very much regret tipping on my TWO purchases I made and hate that I spent money here. I will never go back.
August 25 · MeganFavorite bakery in town! Everything here is so tasty and really just done right. We love everything here, but my favorite is the sticky bun. I always ask for it to be warmed up.We also got a piece of the Yuzu Olive Oil cake today, thought it was a little too sweet. But, it was still good none the less.
February 04 · Jeff TurkWe love this bakery! We started off by visiting their stand at the Salt Lake City farmers market for weeks getting croissants, plain and raisin, we loved them. Today we visited their actual location, baked goods overload. So much to choose from. The blueberry muffins are hands down the best we’ve ever had. The blueberries are huge and the muffin is moist and delicious. The danish was sweet and tasty. Plan to visit more to try everything once. Can’t go wrong with this bakery.
September 04 · Dan KnutillaGreat bakery for coffee, sandwiches and baked goods. Can’t go wrong with any of the baked goods. Cookies are buttery good. Staff is very nice and friendly. It’s usually busy all times of the day. Highly recommend.
August 31 · Abigail AdamekMy family of five had an exceptional experience here. Staff was friendly and the food was next level. We ordered a variety of items including oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, espresso and tea. I had driven across the country to meet up with family in the area. In my 6k plus mile trip this was the best bakery/cafe I visited. I now have three favorite bakeries. One in St. Petersburg FL, one in Clareville New Zealand and Tulie in SLC!
