Uncle Stevey’s Bagels Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For California residents craving the authentic taste of a traditional East Coast bagel—that perfect combination of a crunchy exterior and a chewy interior—look no further than Uncle Stevey’s Bagels in El Segundo. This beloved local shop has quickly carved out a reputation in the competitive Southern California food scene by delivering handcrafted, fresh-daily bagels that honor classic recipes while also introducing innovative and irresistible new flavors. It is more than just a quick breakfast spot; it’s a dedicated purveyor of true bagel craftsmanship, bringing a much-needed taste of New York and other East Coast locales right to the South Bay community.
Uncle Stevey’s Bagels is built on a foundation of quality and passion, which is evident in every bite. Their commitment to the time-honored techniques of boiling and baking the dough is what creates the "quintessential" texture that bagel aficionados seek. The menu expertly balances the familiar—like plain, sesame, and everything bagels—with signature, unique offerings that excite the palate, such as the savory Rosemary Olive Oil Bagel and the sweet-and-spicy Cheddar Hot Honey Bagel.
Beyond the excellent selection of freshly baked rings, the shop is equally famous for its specialty bagel sandwiches, each named after a beloved relative or friend, creating a true family-owned, community-focused feel. Popular choices like the signature 'Uncle Stevey' sandwich—featuring lox, cream cheese, pickled onion, and dill—demonstrate a dedication to classic deli flavors executed with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
A truly unique offering at Uncle Stevey’s is the "Biagel." This creation is a cross between a traditional bagel and a bialy, made from bagel dough with the center hole closed up, but—crucially—still put through the water process (boiling) like a regular bagel. This innovation results in a dense, chewy, and flavorful filled item, with popular versions including the Roasted Garlic and Onion Biagel and the Mushroom, Black Garlic, and Gruyere Biagel. This kind of creativity ensures that there is always something new and exciting to try, making a visit a rewarding "weekly treat" for many loyal Southern California customers.
The shop is designed for a quick, friendly, and efficient visit, making it an ideal destination for California locals looking to grab a satisfying breakfast or a delicious snack without delay. The friendly and helpful staff contribute significantly to the inviting atmosphere, ensuring every customer feels welcome.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After *finally* trying Uncle Stevey’s Bagels yesterday, I’ll say their bagels are pretty solid… but maybe ever so slightly overhyped. I ordered two bagels and preferred the jalapeño bagel over the rosemary olive oil one. The outside of the bagel had a perfectly chewy texture while the inside was a little dense for my liking. The rosemary olive oil bagel was coated in oil, which I didn’t love. I wish the rosemary was infused into the batter rather than just coating (which fell off). I would come back, but I’m not rushing back.
June 14 · Kelly SidneyI absolutely LOVE Uncle Stevey’s! Always a weekly treat to myself and it never fails. From the sweet bagels to savory ones, all of them are delicious! The staff is always so helpful and friendly plus the shop itself is a great place to visit. Highly recommend!
August 08 · taylor fardigA customer of mine gave me several bagels from Stevie’s, and they were amazing! I had one with chili oil and garlic and it was amazing! Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an adventuresome flavor and like a little heat. Will definitely be back to try them again!
September 09 · Brent GrahamStevie's bagels are wonderful, along with the coffee you can taste the flavor of life.Above average price, but it was a great experience!
May 28 · Alexius MirandaDelicious bagels and unexpectedly good coffee! Definitely a bit overpriced but most places are now anyways. The rosemary olive oil bagel is my favorite - have to get here early for it before it sells out each day though!
