Wandering Wheat Bakery Introduce
***Wandering Wheat Bakery: Sourdough Excellence and Artisan Bread Across Utah County***
***Introduction / Overview***
For discerning Utah residents who appreciate the deeply complex flavor, hearty crust, and satisfying chew of truly authentic artisan bread, Wandering Wheat Bakery is a name that has quickly become synonymous with quality. Based out of Provo, this unique establishment operates as a highly successful mobile bakery, taking its exceptional, hand-crafted products directly to the community—a concept its loyal patrons enthusiastically support.
Wandering Wheat specializes in sourdough, a commitment that demands time, expertise, and patience. The baker, Matt Clyde, brings a lifetime of passion and formal culinary education to his craft, ensuring his loaves are not just bread, but a celebration of traditional baking methods. Their dedication to a slow, multi-day fermentation process is what imparts the distinct, beloved sour flavor and the perfectly "moist and chewy inside" that customers rave about.
The business proudly emphasizes its roots as a small, family-run operation, reflecting a level of care and personal attention that major commercial bakeries simply cannot match. This dedication was officially recognized when their Classic Sourdough won the UtahTasteOff’s 2021 sourdough bread taste-off, cementing their status as a premier bread maker in the region. Whether you're seeking a classic loaf or an exciting new flavor, Wandering Wheat is Utah County’s go-to source for artisan excellence.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love sourdough 🍞 and I found this mobile bakery at Christkindlmarkt. I got regular sourdough and jalapeño cheddar sourdough. They are moist and chewy inside and has good sour flavor. They have so many different flavor sourdough and I'm excited to try them all! They gonna be my go to sourdough place from now on.
December 05 · Bo FI have been looking at Wandering Wheat online for some time, and we have gotten some bread. It was amazing, especially the basil sundried tomato, and I love how the business is family owned. If I could, I would love to be in their family and work with them. It is such an amazing place with such good bread. Im surprised how they don't have an actual shop yet 🤣 Highly recommend
August 02 · Jeremiah WilliamsBest bread ever! We consistently buy from this truck at the Orem farmer’s market and it is consistently delicious. Recently we bought chocolate cherry, cinnamon chip and garden ranch (which is my very very very favorite now!) and in the past we’ve had a standard sourdough, a jalapeño cheddar and a very delicious mushroom bread! I acknowledge I’m ridiculously snobby about bread and Wandering wheat checks all my boxes.
June 27 · Cherry StewartI've watched them on social media for years and the stars finally aligned for me to try them out. I tried a sample of the garlic sourdough and it was amazing, so I bought a loaf of garlic and one of Asiago. The garlic loaf was incredibly gummy and sat like a brick in my stomach, giving me a stomach ache and just overall falling way short of the mark. For a similar price I can get a loaf at Harmons and they've never given me a gummy loaf of bread. I can't even finish the slice I tried, let alone the other loaf. My husband took one for the team and says the Asiago is also gummy. I wanted it to work out so much, I wanted to love this place. But now I'm glad I waited until I had disposable income to try them. Instead of being this disappointed and also having stretched our budget thin.
July 22 · EleselI'm so glad I found Wandering Wheat Sourdough Bread. This is my new favorite. Thank you for feeding my sourdough cravings.
