What is worth choosing
Young Donuts is unequivocally worth choosing for Dallas locals who appreciate a combination of traditional, high-quality donuts and substantial savory breakfast fare. For sweet cravings, the items most worth selecting are the ones repeatedly lauded by local customers for their freshness: a Large Apple Fritter (approx. $2.49), a classic Glazed Donut (approx. $1.19), or a Filled Donut (approx. $2.39) like the Raspberry or Bavarian Cream. These items confirm the shop's strength in traditional, fresh-baked goods.
For a true Texan morning experience, however, the savory menu is equally essential. Patrons should choose one of the celebrated Sausage Rolls, particularly the Jumbo Cheese Sausage Roll (approx. $3.59) or the unique taste of the Jalapeño Cheese Sausage Roll (approx. $1.99). These offerings provide the hearty, portable protein that complements the sweetness of the donuts and truly sets the local Texas donut shop apart. Pairing any of these baked goods with a cup of their "Great coffee" ensures a complete and satisfying breakfast experience that is efficient, affordable, and distinctly local to Dallas. The shop’s friendly approach to service and focus on a quick, casual visit makes it the ideal spot for any individual needing a reliable, delicious start to their day on Samuell Boulevard.
A Note on Service and Community:
Local businesses thrive on community trust and positive interactions. While many customers praise the "beautifully displayed" goods and friendly greetings, as noted in public feedback, some reviews have pointed to instances of perceived rudeness or combative energy related to payment and customer interaction. For patrons in the Dallas area, this serves as a reminder to communicate clearly during transactions. It is important to note that the shop's operational policy clearly states acceptance of Credit cards and Debit cards, providing clear payment options for all customers. Texans value businesses that maintain professional, respectful service for every customer, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment consistent with the shop’s casual and quick-visit atmosphere. Supporting local businesses is a two-way street, and clear, respectful communication from both staff and customers is key to maintaining a positive community experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Gentleman greeted us as soon as we entered. All the baked goods were beautifully displayed and clean atmosphere. Purchased blueberry donut apple fritter honey bun and chocolate eclair. All the donuts were fresh and tasted delicious. I was pleasantly surprised how great they were. Give them a try you will not be disappointed.
August 05 · E WhiteSure feels racist to me. Came in to get donuts this morning and was behind a black woman trying to pay. She had what was clearly a joke sticker on her card that said food stamps and had a picture of a Dave Chappell character on it.The lady running this shop loudly and rudely said she didn’t take food stamps in front of everyone in the shop. Several of us were now involved and tried to explain that it was actually a real card and that they should just tap it. They didn’t believe that it wasn’t food stamps and tried to run the card as if the sticker was the correct side of the card. They literally wouldn’t believe this woman wasn’t trying to pay with food stamps. It didn’t even look like a real food stamp card. The combative energy in the other reviews was definitely seen. I won’t be back.
September 07 · Elle MonusI love the donuts here! I’ve gone to the shop every time I’m in the area. I wish it would stay open till 3pm on Saturday’s. The customer service need improvement but the donuts are excellent. They sometimes throw in free donuts depending on how much you buy and what time you go.
November 19 · Krystal TurnerTerrible lady! The owner is so rude. My daughter chocolate milk was old, I went back to exchange. She instantly got very defensive and blamed me for the old milk. She blamed the milk company. I told her I purchased from her and it wasn't a big deal she took it so personally, I know she didn't make the milk. She went very far and asked me not to return, ok! She stated she's been in business since 1984... I told her I believed her because the decor hasn't changed. She got upset told me she hate me and asked me to leave.
September 18 · Tiffany JThis place was so disappointing!!! $4 for a medium coffee and I couldn’t even get a top for my cup !! And the guy working They don’t know if he’s the owner or what but he said I don’t know what to tell you and I’m too tired to care!! And to top it off. Donuts suck, kolaches. Don’t even taste good.
