Zaro's Family Bakery Introduce
For generations of New Jersey commuters and Newark locals, Zaro's Family Bakery has been more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it's a familiar and often essential stop in their daily routine. Located conveniently within the bustling Newark Penn Station, Zaro's brings a taste of classic New York bakery traditions right to the heart of New Jersey's major transportation hub. From freshly baked bagels to rich pastries and aromatic coffee, Zaro's offers a diverse selection designed to fuel your morning commute or provide a comforting break during your travels.
Zaro's Family Bakery, a fourth-generation family-owned business with a history stretching back decades, is renowned for its commitment to quality and a wide array of baked goods. While the fast-paced environment of a train station can sometimes lead to rushed service, Zaro's aims to provide a reliable and satisfying experience. Their menu features staples that have become beloved by many, offering a consistent taste of traditional bakery items.
However, like any high-traffic establishment, customer experiences can sometimes vary. While some patrons have expressed concerns about service during peak hours, others have lauded specific staff members for their exceptional helpfulness and genuine kindness. These positive interactions highlight the potential for outstanding customer care that Zaro's strives to achieve, especially when it comes to accommodating specific needs like catering orders. For those navigating the busy schedules of Newark Penn Station, Zaro's remains a prominent and often preferred option for their daily dose of baked goods and coffee.
Zaro's Family Bakery is ideally situated in the Main Hall of Newark Penn Station, Newark, NJ 07102, USA. This premier location places it directly within one of New Jersey's most significant transportation hubs, making it incredibly accessible for a vast number of commuters, travelers, and local residents.
Newark Penn Station itself is a nexus for multiple public transportation lines. It serves as a major station for NJ Transit commuter rail lines, providing connections throughout New Jersey. While downtown Newark offers various other dining options, Zaro's benefits significantly from its direct integration into the station, making it a highly practical choice for those on the go. For drivers, parking in the immediate vicinity of Penn Station can be challenging, but the excellent public transit access largely mitigates this.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1PLEASE AVOID THIS EATERY!The staff here is absolutely worst. Not only do they lack customer centricity, they are rude as hell. They are more interested in gossiping amongst themselves rather than attending to customers. You're better off going to Dunkin or Starbucks which are a few steps away.If this chain really wants to retain or acquire customers it should look closely at who they hire and how they're trained.*Feedback especially for staff at the counter at around 9:50 am on 8th of February.*
February 08 · Brahmdeep BhatiaLisa from Zaro’s at Newark Penn Station was the sweetest, most genuine helpful person who I have encountered in a long time. I placed a coffee catering order with a request for immediate pick up rather than the 3 days, and she not only swiftly accommodated me but she helped guide me so in the future when I place orders I won’t run into the same issue again. The quality of the coffee was amazing and came with cups, milk, and utensils without me even having to ask. Due to her incredible service and kindness, I will use this location for all of my catering orders!!
April 11 · Danielle DossantosFound what appeared to be a worm in my coffee. Woman working there accused me of putting it in myself. I didn't even ask for my money back. Disgusting and vile.
May 31 · Thomas SweeneyThis Zaro's, on the main concourse of Penn Station in Newark, is a long time establishment in the station. While the baked goods have been quite superlative, especially in the early morning hours, everything else, that is, the premade sandwiches, salads, and in general, anything else after noontime, can be very much hit or miss. The service as well, can be hit or miss, as at times, you can get counter people who are enthusiastic about service, and then there are some, particularly young males, who definitely have a look about them that they're in there just for the paycheck, and couldn't care less about service, just thinking they can skate by, by just showing up and doing the minimum. That's not how it works.
July 03 · Burt ShoobsThe bacon egg and cheese was bad. The roll tasted horrid. The coffee is so bitter with sugar and cream. Can’t taste the hazelnut🤮🤮. Worst money spent
