Anderson Bakery Introduce
For South Carolina residents, particularly those in the Anderson area, the facility located at 433 Sayre Street, simply referred to as "Anderson Bakery," represents a significant element of the region's commercial food production and supply chain. However, it is crucial for local users to understand the true nature of this location. Unlike a traditional retail storefront where customers browse and purchase individual items, public data consistently identifies this address as the "Kroger Anderson Bakery" division. This indicates its primary function is large-scale commercial baking, supplying a major grocery retailer rather than serving as a direct-to-consumer shop.
The distinction between a retail bakery and a commercial or wholesale baking facility is vital for locals. While some online listings might show menu items like a "6" Strawberry Shortcake" or a "Tuna Salad," these menus appear to be generalized data that conflict with the facility's identification as a large-scale Kroger Bakery division, suggesting it is a manufacturing site for bread and cake products sold in grocery stores. Furthermore, external public information refers to it as a facility with "docks" for delivery and receiving, and contact information often points to corporate channels, supporting the conclusion that this is a high-volume industrial site dedicated to bakery production and distribution.
The context provided by customer reviews also strongly supports this industrial classification, with comments focusing on logistical issues, like the difficulty for delivery drivers to "back into docks," and descriptions of the environment related to employment and manufacturing standards. This means that a casual visit expecting a retail shop experience, complete with fresh coffee and a counter of pastries for individual purchase, would likely be disappointing for the typical South Carolina consumer. Instead, the Anderson Bakery on Sayre Street plays a much different, but equally important, role in the community: it is a major employer and a critical link in ensuring grocery store shelves across the region are stocked with essential bakery items like fresh bread and cakes.
It must be emphasized that the primary benefit of the Kroger Anderson Bakery to the local South Carolina community is through its contribution to the regional economy and its role in mass food supply. The job opportunities it provides, which seem to include roles like Maintenance Repairer, and its sheer volume of production ensure that a wide array of baked goods is available to consumers daily through Kroger's retail network.
Location and Accessibility
The facility known as Anderson Bakery is located at 433 Sayre St, Anderson, SC 29624, USA. This address is positioned within an area that caters more toward light industry and logistics than traditional retail storefronts, which aligns with its classification as a commercial baking division.
Accessibility details provided in the available data (Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible parking lot) suggest a commitment to accommodating all individuals, which is a standard requirement for large commercial facilities for employees, visitors, and delivery personnel. The public information also refers to the presence of "docks" and a controlled gate that "opens at 6:30am," which further defines the site as a logistical hub. For delivery drivers serving the facility, the need to navigate tight backing conditions is noted, indicating a busy, operational environment focused on industrial efficiency and distribution. Free parking is available in a lot, essential for employees and business visitors.
Services Offered
Given the identified commercial nature of the Kroger Anderson Bakery division, the "services offered" are primarily directed toward wholesale and supply chain operations, rather than direct consumer retail.
- Commercial Production: Large-scale, high-volume production of bread, cake, and various bakery mixes for distribution.
- Supply Chain Logistics: Operating as a hub with loading docks and specific hours for receiving and dispatching baked goods to a major grocery retailer's stores.
- Employment and Training: Provides local job opportunities in food manufacturing, production, and maintenance roles, and potentially participates in apprenticeship programs.
- Takeout (Conditional): While 'Takeout' is listed in some data, for a facility of this type, this would likely be restricted to pre-arranged business transactions or employee purchases, and should not be relied upon by the general public for walk-up retail purchases.
Features / Highlights
The true highlights of the Anderson Bakery at 433 Sayre St lie in its industrial scale and its contribution to the regional food supply.
- Large-Scale Commercial Production: Functions as a key manufacturing division for The Kroger Co., ensuring a consistent supply of baked goods across the retail network.
- Industrial-Grade Operations: Operates 24 hours a day on all seven days of the week, reflecting its role as a high-capacity production facility critical to regional supply chain logistics.
- Focus on Staple Bakery Items: Specializes in categories such as Bread and Cake production, including popular items like Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Ganache Cake, though primarily for wholesale distribution.
- Logistical Hub: Equipped with docks and controlled access for efficient loading and unloading, a central feature for a distribution-focused operation.
- Payment Acceptance: Accepts Credit Cards, necessary for business transactions with suppliers and vendors, or potentially for internal/employee sales.

What is Worth Choosing?
The Kroger Anderson Bakery is worth choosing primarily for individuals in South Carolina seeking specific types of opportunities or business relationships, rather than a place to buy a single pastry.
Firstly, it is worth choosing for those seeking employment in the food manufacturing or supply chain sector. Its continuous 24/7 operation suggests a constant need for a stable workforce in production, logistics, and maintenance. Despite some anecdotal negative feedback regarding the recruitment process, the sheer scale of the operation indicates a potential for career growth within a major national company.
Secondly, for local businesses or institutions requiring large-scale bakery supplies, this facility represents a powerful resource. Although its main customer is likely its parent company, the sheer production capacity makes it a central, highly efficient player in the regional food infrastructure.
It is important to emphasize to the general South Carolina public: **this is not a retail shop.** The worth of this location is defined by its industrial contribution. If you are looking for a commercial bakery that provides the bread and cakes found in local Kroger grocery stores, this is the production source. If you are looking for a custom cake shop or a place to grab a quick, fresh-made sandwich, local users should choose a dedicated retail bakery or deli instead. The most valuable service provided by the Anderson Bakery on Sayre Street is its unwavering, large-scale supply of essential baked goods that sustain the food network across the region.

August 15 · H. GarciaWorst company every .. sat thru a 20 min long talk with a recruiter at a table with 9 other people the recruiter barley speaks ups made everybody introduce themselves.. just put us on the spot. I think she was too lazy to go around and read what everybody put on their paper so instead, she made us do a show and tell. We took drugs test .. and never heard back. She also has a nasty attitude. And then had people come and she wasn’t there the 2nd young recruiter said She’s not here today. You’ll just have to come back tomorrow. I was thinking to myself common sense just let us join in, it’s only two of us. It’s hot asf. I got people touching bread without gloves . Yes, there is a wash station when you come in but people hands still be everywhere
