## Location and Accessibility: A Sought-After Destination
Balthazar Bakery is strategically located at **214 S Dean St, Englewood, NJ 07631, USA**. This address places it within a vibrant part of Englewood, making it a convenient stop for many residents in Bergen County and beyond. While it’s certainly a destination, its location allows for relatively straightforward access for those eager to experience its renowned offerings.
It’s important for New Jersey locals to note that while the bakery is easily found, the experience is designed around efficiency and product acquisition rather than prolonged stays. There are no seats or tables, and only a small standing area for customers. Parking in the immediate vicinity is described as "extremely limited," which is a common characteristic of popular establishments in bustling areas. However, this is largely mitigated by a "high turnover rate of cars," as most customers make their purchase and depart quickly. Despite the potential for lines, they are noted to "move pretty quickly," indicating that the bakery is well-organized to handle its steady stream of eager customers. This efficient system ensures that despite its popularity, acquiring your desired baked goods remains a relatively smooth process for those who plan their visit.

## Specialised Offerings for the Discerning Palate
Balthazar Bakery is not a typical all-encompassing bakery; instead, it excels in a focused range of high-quality, artisan-level baked goods, particularly those with a French influence. Their streamlined approach ensures that every item they offer is crafted to perfection.
Exceptional Croissants: A true highlight for many, Balthazar's croissants are consistently praised for their flakiness and delicious flavor. This includes the classic regular croissant, the richly flavored almond croissant (described as tasting "like millions of almonds died in the making of it"), and the unique flan croissant, which perfectly combines the textures and flavors of flan with a traditional croissant.
Kouign-Amann: A beloved specialty, this pastry is described as a "croissant-like flaky pastry with a crème brûlée crackling top." It's a complex and utterly delicious treat that showcases the bakery's mastery of laminated doughs and sweet finishes.
Monkey Bread: Known for being "hopelessly moreish," their monkey bread is another highly addictive offering, perfect for sharing (or not!).
Artisan Breads: While specific types are not detailed in the provided information, the general sentiment of being "heaven for all carb connoisseurs" and a "lover of bread" implies a strong selection of high-quality, likely European-style, artisanal breads.
Danishes: Customers have also specifically noted the excellence of their danishes, comparing them favorably to other high-quality sources, suggesting a range of fruit and cheese-filled options.
High-Quality Chocolate Croissant: The chocolate croissant is highlighted as "incredible," with a specific mention of the "high-quality" chocolate, indicating a commitment to superior ingredients across all their offerings. Warming it up slightly is also recommended to fully appreciate the rich chocolate.
It's important to reiterate that, based on customer reviews, Balthazar Bakery does not appear to sell coffee or other beverages, and there are no seating areas. The focus is exclusively on the quality of their baked goods for takeaway.

## Key Features and Highlights: A Baker's Paradise
Balthazar Bakery distinguishes itself through several key features that contribute to its reputation as a premier destination for baked goods in New Jersey.
Uncompromising Quality: The overarching theme from customer experiences is the consistently high quality of every item. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize that "nothing has disappointed," from the flakiness of the croissants to the richness of the chocolate and the overall flavor profiles.
Artisanal Specialization: Unlike many bakeries that offer a broad range of items, Balthazar Bakery excels by focusing on a select array of intensely crafted breads and pastries, particularly those with a French influence like croissants and kouign-amann. This specialization allows them to perfect their craft.
Unique and Memorable Flavors: The descriptions of the almond croissant tasting "like millions of almonds died" and the flan croissant being a "baby" of flan and croissant illustrate the bakery's ability to create unique and intensely flavored experiences that leave a lasting impression.
Efficient Service: Despite the potential for long lines, the quick movement of the queue and the swift decision-making required at the counter indicate a highly efficient operation designed to serve a high volume of customers without excessive wait times.
Dedicated Production Space: The observation that "Most of the building seems to be dedicated to (1) on-site equipment and (2) a small storefront" highlights their commitment to fresh, in-house production, which directly contributes to the superior quality of their products.
High-Quality Ingredients: Specific mentions of "high-quality" chocolate and the rich almond flavor suggest that Balthazar Bakery prioritizes premium ingredients, which is fundamental to the exceptional taste of their offerings.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is not your local cafe hangout. Come to think of it, I don't even think they sell coffees or any other beverage. There are no seats, no tables, and only a little bit of standing room. But this is HEAVEN for all carb connoisseurs. Most of the building seems to be dedicated to (1) on-site equipment and (2) a small storefront where goods are prettily displayed behind a glass wall. And then a teeny, tiny area where you stand in line and salivate as you await your turn. Trying to decide what to get is difficult, since you don't get to see what's actually available until you get to the front of the line, and then you have to make some quick decisions while the rest of the line waits and harrumphs behind you.I've had a ton of their croissants (the regular was flaky and delicious, the almond tasted like millions of almonds died in the making of it, and the flan was just as if a plate of flan and croissant had a baby). The beloved kouign-amann is a croissant-like flaky pastry with a creme brûlée crackling top. The monkey bread is hopelessly moreish. Suffice it to say, I've been eating my way through Balthazar little by little, and nothing has disappointed. If you're in the area and consider yourself a lover of bread or pastry, this is a must-visit. Parking is extremely limited, but there's a high turnover rate of cars since most people are leaving right after they purchase. Lines can be long, but move pretty quickly.
February 04 · Jane CI'm just five starring the whole thing. I've had the croissants and danishes from ready coffee. Best I ever had! Chocolate croissant incredible… Warm it up a little bit the chocolate is high-quality and delicious as are all the ingredients. I'm gonna have to make a trip to New Jersey is that good
June 30 · Pegz O'ConnorOne of the worst caneles that I’ve ever had. It had soft shell with only a hint of crispness. Interior was a disaster. Flavor was balanced but somewhat artificial.
January 08 · Yang LuoYou cannot go wrong here. There's a reason why this place's products are carried by numerous cafes in the city. You might have to wait in a line on weekends, especially in the morning. They carry both regular and savory pastries and have seasonal specials throughout the year. If you are a first time, try the custard flan croissant, it is very, very good.Unfortunately only for takeout. This Place has no seatings available, nothing. Not even utensils nor napkins.I wish they would add outdoor seating.Parking is somewhat limited but customers are going in and out quickly.
August 18 · Alessandro FratiFinally, I had a chance to visit Balthazar Bakery and was impressed by their pastries. This place is small mostly for “grab and go” They also sell a variety of good quality products and of course amazing bakeries. Great selection of bread, pastries, and cakes. I chose plain croissant $3,75, cardamom bun $3,75, almond croissant $4,50, pistachio cookie $3,50 and buckwheat hazelnut bouchon $4 (gluten-free). Everything was delicious, my favorite is the plain croissant and buckwheat.
