For a California patron, choosing Continental Bakery means prioritizing authentic flavor and supporting a local small business that offers great value. When visiting this Los Angeles gem, there are several items that consistently stand out and are highly recommended based on the unique offerings and customer feedback.
The most worthwhile choice is unequivocally the Pupusas. Specifically, the Pupusa Queso Con Loroco is a must-try, combining cheese with the savory, slightly herbal flavor of loroco flower, a delicacy in Salvadoran cuisine. The Pupusa Revuelta and Frijol Con Queso are also fantastic choices for an authentic, satisfying snack or meal. Similarly, the Tamales De Pollo are highly praised by regular customers and their co-workers, making them a reliable choice for a flavorful, portable meal.
For a sweet treat or morning item, you should lean into the Latin-inspired options. The Guava Cheese Pastry offers a delightful balance of sweet and tangy, a common flavor profile in Latin American desserts. For drinks, skip the standard sodas and try the Horchata or a unique fusion like the Iced Horchata Con Espresso for a distinctly delicious Los Angeles twist.
A note of caution, based on an existing review: while the bakery has many excellent dessert choices like the Cheesecake and Fruit Tart, customers ordering the Tres Leches Cake are advised to be very specific about their expectations for the level of milk saturation, as one customer found a previous order to be too dry.
Ultimately, Continental Bakery is worth choosing for its authentic Salvadoran cuisine, its convenient location with free parking, and its dual capacity to serve both daily fresh bread needs and satisfying, culturally rich meals in one accessible location on Rampart Boulevard.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1me and my friend David went to buy a cake I chose 3 leches and he chose a coffee. I was so disappointed! They gave me a cake, a simple dam cake laid on top of condensed milk. the cake was just dry dry bread and milk on the bottom. i know a 3 leches when i taste one, and this was not a 3 leches cake. it was a regular bread cake with sweet milk on the bottom. never buying a cake there again. Be careful when ordering a cake, make sure you specify what you want.
September 07 · Alejandra Felix (Hmitiel1)I'm always stopping by at this place on my way to work to get some chicken tamales for my co- workers. I love their pupusas and their fried plantains. Their staff are very nice. According to my co- workers their tamales are excellent. Their corn tamales are also yummy. I highly recommend this place 👌
July 15 · Marivic Chiongstar for their tiramisu only and the decent food but low quality for some of food freshness clean service and very very bad attitude / too bad for the owners ! prices average / when serving they touch everything or put the tongs rite on the glass on the top of the showcase/ instead of promoting and offering their food they hide behind the counters or hardly give u what y need AFTER SO MANY QUESTIONS / SO FRUSTRATING 🙈
