Dangerously Delicious HQ & Test Kitchen Bar Introduce
A truly unique culinary experience awaits you in the heart of Baltimore’s beloved Hampden neighborhood. Dangerously Delicious HQ & Test Kitchen Bar isn't just your average local spot; it's a celebrated pie shop, restaurant, and full bar wrapped into one, offering a "Pie Style" that has captured the hearts and taste buds of Marylanders for years. This veteran-owned establishment has built a loyal following for its exceptional take on a classic comfort food, turning the humble pie into an all-day, every-meal affair, from breakfast to dinner and, of course, dessert.
More than just a bakery, this is a destination. Patrons consistently praise the unique atmosphere, which often features a lively, "Rock-a-billy" vibe complemented by a casual and inviting setting. The concept, initially conceived by a touring musician to fund his rock-and-roll passion, brings an edgy, fun energy to the traditional pie shop model. Whether you're a local seeking a new favorite hangout or visiting Hampden’s famous 'Avenue,' Dangerously Delicious HQ offers a memorable meal that perfectly blends sweet indulgence with hearty, savory satisfaction.
The menu philosophy here centers around providing a wide and frequently rotating selection of sweet and savory pies and quiches, ensuring a fresh and exciting adventure with every visit. You can stop in for a slice of one of their famous pies, like the legendary Baltimore Bomb, or grab a full meal from their hot food offerings. The focus is on quality, from the flaky, buttery crust to the generous, robust fillings, proving that pie truly is the limit when it comes to deliciousness.
One of the most appealing aspects for local Maryland residents is the emphasis on both savory and sweet options, allowing a slice of pie to serve as a satisfying lunch or dinner. You can enjoy a hearty, savory pie like the highly recommended Steak, Mushroom, Onion, and Gruyere (SMOG), or a comforting Chicken Pot Pie. For those with a sweet tooth, the local favorites often include the signature Baltimore Bomb, a vanilla custard pie generously swirled with Baltimore’s iconic Berger cookies. It’s this blend of local flavor, high-quality ingredients, and a truly unique approach that makes this spot a must-visit in the Baltimore food scene.
The atmosphere itself is a significant part of the experience. It's described by customers as having "Love The Vibes love the look" and a "Rock-a-billy" aesthetic, distinguishing it from typical restaurants and bakeries. It’s the kind of place where the staff is friendly, the music is great, and the unique, expertly-made food leaves a lasting impression. Many customers express that the overall experience—combining the rock-and-roll decor, welcoming bar area, and incredible food—is second to none, a truly "unique and perfectly executed idea" that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere in Maryland.
This location on The Avenue in Hampden serves as the HQ and Test Kitchen Bar, making it the creative hub where new "killer FOOD specials" and "mind-blowing drinks" are imagined and perfected. For Maryland locals, this means you are getting the freshest and most innovative ideas right at the source, adding another layer of excitement to repeat visits.
The business is proud to identify as veteran-owned, adding to the rich fabric of local establishments supported by the community. They also support other local businesses by serving products like Zeke's Coffee and Kim's Kimchi, rooting them firmly in the local Baltimore and Maryland ecosystem.
This dedication to community, originality, and quality is what keeps patrons coming back time and time again, often commenting, "This is now my second time going and I don't think I can stop coming back." It’s an infectious enthusiasm that speaks volumes about the product and the experience offered at Dangerously Delicious HQ & Test Kitchen Bar.

So good.I need to work on getting the quiches
June 07 · KellyGenuinely my favorite spot in Baltimore. I have traveled and worked in every region of this country and have never found such a unique and perfectly executed idea. If someone told me there was a restaurant of just pies I'd say they are full of it. I am not exaggerating when I say these are the best pies I've ever had and I will miss this more than anything when it's time to move to the next job.
June 20 · Rachel GuffeyI came with my friend and she said that Rodney was super hot. Anyway, any pie you get will be the best thing you've put in your mouth. Vegan, vegetarian and carnivores delight. It's so good, I didn't even take pictures.
March 09 · Cassie MulheronIyin and Rodney were so sweet and deserve a flourishing business with their charisma. WITH that being said, oh my goodness do Not get the pies here. Idk if it’s because I came here on a Friday night at 11 pm but I got the strawberry rhubarb and it was so disappointing and by disappointing I mean borderline nasty. I never write reviews but the way I was bamboozled when I took a bite because I was so excited to try this and the reviews were good so I was certain it would be atleast be a 5/10… no :( I had to write this review. I will say I had a Caramel cappuccino and that was good . I don’t know about anything else here but the strawberry R. And the mixed berry pie was NOT good, trust me. (In the photo I could only eat the crust/bredding, it didn’t come with whipped cream, frosting etc)
June 27 · Ofosua AmissahI had a slice of Baltimore Bomb, it was absurdly good. You guys should try making a dessert cocktail menu, could be fun.
